Earlier today, I installed the latest nav update in my daughter's '20 Stinger. It also updated the software for the radio and other things too, I assume. After the update completed successfully, I'm having issues with the tuning knob and XM. When changing channels with the knob, it sometimes go 1, 2, 3, or 4 channels, completely randomly. I can manually tune any channel, but the knob is having issues. It also is no longer showing the channel/album artwork. I looked for a setting that might need to be changed, but couldn't find anything.

I'm hoping it figures itself out when my daughter goes to work in a little while, but has anyone else seen this or have any suggestions to check tomorrow?

Thanks a lot.

I've had weird issues after updates where it almost seemed like I got a partial update or something of the sort. You could try downloading it again and trying to apply it to the car again.

I may try that again if my daughter comes home in the morning with it still having issues.

There is a default setting.

I would suggest you do that whilst the car is running to set everything back to factory default then gradually work your way through all the settings which is going to take some time.

Previously when I have done this it has taken 30 minutes or more for settings to reappear such as "Quantum Sound". I only had to do this default setting after ticking the daylight saving tick box and the screen went blank on start up obviously with a software glitch which fixed itself after using the default setting.

I have not updated software however even though I would like the latest maps because Kia tends to change other stuff around and it cannot be rolled back. I prefer that the car still works "out of the factory" and leave the rest alone. I will live with 10 year old maps on a 2023 car......

I did do the update with the car running. It did take quite a bit of time.

I will be in her car shortly, and see if anything has changed. I did see the reset option, and I may try to do that if it still isn't working right. I may also try the update again, in case there was some kind of issue with that process.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I tried the reset function. Didn't fix it. I downloaded the update a second time, and installed it again. Same issue. The channels change three at a time. I guess I'll just wait to see if it eventually sorts itself out.,

Does using the steering wheel control skip just 1 channel?
I never use the dial on the unit..mine might do the same.

Is it skipping through your presets/favourites instead?

I can manually select any saved presets. If I use the tuning knob to change channels, it skips multiple channels at a time.

Following. Was thinking of doing this but want to know if there is anything that will "break"!! I heard some mention that their wireless dongles no longer reconnected (I have aa wireless dongle). Anyone else had a bad update?

wait a second? Updating is a thing? How do you do it?
