MY22 Canada Stinger

The new screen is nice, of course, but largely useless for anything important like nav, since we need more height not width to make that more useful.
or even better, put the info on the HUD (if available)! Eyes straight, hands 9-3, pedal to the floooooooor!

I see some info about a scorpion package online. Not being a fan of the black chrome, I would like to see a black package offered in Canada to replace the black chrome. I like the scorpion package, but not a fan of the large rear spoiler. Also it looks like it is only coming out in 3 colors. Not sure if this is coming to Canada though.

Congrats on the large vocabulary, but I agree with Stephen. Not everyone has the same list of requirements from the car. Just look at some of the most prolific posters on this forum. Their enthusiasm is equal but not their usage nor demands from the car.

There's no documentation about a change in the suspension modes with the refresh, so perhaps your butt dyno just needed recalibrated. As for the exhaust, yeah they could have made it louder. Oh well.

You're a bit hyperbolic with your distaste for the new model.
That review I posted above also comments that the suspension felt firmer.

It’s not as of now. Source: You Tube Kia Hyundai Channel

Funny I have the exact same opinion. Prefer blacked out trim but not a fan of spoilers.

Doesn't look like it's coming this year. Kia Brantford, the manager does live stream videos on youtube and went over all the new features of the 2022 for Canada and the scorpion pack is not coming here.

The new infotainment screen looks vastly better though.

Kia is weird in the USA/Canada. States don't get the suede, we don't get the "Scorpion", different names for the same color... Why??

Honestly no clue. I follow the guy from Kia Brantford on Youtube and he goes to all the US launches, he's kind of a brand ambassador for Kia and he was asked that during a stream and even he had no clue.

I suspect head office for Kia thinks Canada and the US are far away from each other. Maybe they should look at a globe of the world...

There is no way I would have suede in a car though. I've had Alcantara (fancy name for suede....) in prior cars and it wears horribly. Companies like Audi are regretting putting alcantara on high wear surfaces like steering wheels and shifters.

If I wanted the interior of my car to look like my Grandmother's couch I'd probably just get an old buick.

Hey don't complain too much about the differences between Canada and the US. Did you notice the top tier car is cheaper in Canada in CDN $

than in the US GT2 in US$ without conversion. It is like our money is at par.

and actually better equipped!
I added in all the options like sunroof, all wheel drive etc. on the US price. If you don't like the suede option then its even more cheaper in Canada

the US doesn't get full UVO (remote start, nav, reports etc...) not even an option (but don't tell them, it's a touchy subject  )

GT2 vs GT Elite is very similar so yes it is great our MSRP is lower.

Compared to GT2 AWD, GT Elite does not have:
  • Front Parking Sensors
  • Rear dynamic suspension
Compare to GT2 AWD, GT Elite have
  • LSD
Since MY22 USA UVO was updated to UVO 2.0 so not different there anymore. Also Ghost Grey / Red combo was only 20th anniversary in Canada but not available.

I might be missing other differences.

Has a Canadian Stinger ever had front parking sensors? That's something I would've liked as I can't judge how much distance I have in front of me. Always had to depend on the 360 camera.

The 360 degree camera is why it doesn't have them...

The US models did not have 360 prior.

I am also not aware that the US models now have telematics (i.e., a functioning Internet connection that allows Google search integrated with the nav system and phone app support for a bunch of mostly useless things now that remote start is on the key fob). Don't know what UVO 2.0 means, but UVO 1.0 had two versions--with and without Internet.

USA have both front sensor and 360 camera, in fact only 2018 does not have the 360 camera (GT2 of course)

I heard USA now got the new UVO 2.0 which is a new version of the UVO we had. It include new features but to be confirm from USA members.

Hi everyone just an FYI for your 2022 Stinger, Kia just released a service campaign for exhaust update. Go book a service with your local Kia dealership to get the update. Apparently the sound is louder after the update!

LOL, what are they going to do, punch some holes in the mufflers?

I hope the marketing people who decided to go with the quieter exhaust for 2022 (against 99% of customer opinion since 2017) and rely on fake interior sounds gets the cost of this campaign taken out of their pay.

Haha it probably just keeps the valves open all of the time. Making it sound the same as the pre-facelift exhaust....

I can confirm, I had my 2022 updated yesterday. It sounds really good. Compared to what it sounded like before the update, it was like they dropped an aftermarket exhaust system on it, especially at the lower RPM range.

So what on earth does this update entail? And is the exhaust now bi-modal--sounds different in Sport mode or based on some other trigger?
