My Transmission Is Leaking Fluid

Handling is better for sure. The steering is tighter and more precise depending on the mode you put it in. It has 5 modes: Tour, Sport, Track, Snow/Ice, and a Competition mode.

The transmission is extremely smooth in normal driving but when going aggressive is shifts extremely quick. And the car will detect when you are driving aggressively and change the trans shifting to hold the revs longer.

As for acceleration, I couldn't really get on it since of course it rained all day yesterday when I test drove it. The rear tires would break loose without much effort.

Tech wise, the trim I bought is fully loaded. It has blind spot monitoring, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital dash with oil temp, oil pressure, trans temp, g-meter, tire pressure AND temp monitoring, remote start(without loud honk when shuts off), Brembro brakes.

I think it also has magnetic ride but I am not 100% sure.

It doesn't have adaptive cruise or auto-hold but I rarely used those. No dumb Stop/Start either; that was the first button I pressed to disable it in the Stinger.

Visibility out of the Camaro is also comparable to the Stinger in that they both have poor rear visibility.
LMFAO! I swear we're the same person (got a kitty cat we rescued that looks identical to yours). I also find the start/stop feature terrible and always triple check I have it turned off when I first get in the car.

Makes sense that the Camaro's visibility is just as bad as the Stinger's. They're both pretty big and bulky cars as well as having huge pillars blocking view.

That's very cool that the Camaro can detect the behavior of the driver and adjust to it. Really sweet car! Glad you got the V8 btw since there are rumors of the Camaro also dying off... just how the "real" Mustangs did...

Sounds like you got a super fantastic car and have plans to beef it up a bit even more!

Have you started posting on the Camaro forums and looking for local meets? It's weird... I've been in Yonkers for over half a year now and can count on one hand how many Camaro's I have seen in all of my driving from upstate Westchester County to into parts of the city for work... Love the Camaro but always needed a car with more room... :/

As for the Camaro, I am extremely impressed with it so far.
Until it develops a leak, then it's back to the same decision making. Any car that needs that trans seal replaced has to be disassembled; which creates the problematic question, will it ever be the same again?

That is one thing I have been very impressed with over the years with GM LS engines. Trans and engine leaks are rare. And when they do happen, it is usually something simple like valve cover gaskets.

I have now owned 6 LS powered V8 cars and of those only two had any leaks. On one it was the valve cover gaskets. On the other it was the valley plate gasket.

Don't get me wrong, all cars have problems. But I have had much better luck with the LS V8 cars I have owned.

I came from a fully loaded 6th Gen 2016 2SS Camaro to a GT1 Stinger. The Stinger has more options, more comfortable, more tech, and tolerable suspension setup by far even with the Camaro’s magnetic ride control. The Stinger has vastly improved rearward visibility as well.

But the sound of a mighty unbalanced v8 coming from the dual mode exhaust is intoxicating. Cold starts are enough to wake the house and the neighbors. The looks will turn heads everywhere you go. It’s low and slung. It’s not for everyone with its wide doors, cramped interior, and back seats that should be called shelves. However, I had a 5th Gen 2010 Camaro and a 6th Gen 2016 Camaro...and if there’s a 7th Gen, I’ll have it again. It’s my cup of tea even with its faults.

Enjoy the ride!

Definitely, the sound of the exhaust on the Camaro from the factory is amazing!

As for visibility, the Stinger does win but not by much.

As for the tech, the trim Camaro I purchased is the 2SS which has all the tech: drive modes, HUD, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, wireless phone charger, Apple and Android Play/Auto, blindspot monitoring, 8-speed trans with paddle shifters, auto seat memory and exit assist, and remote start.

The only options the 2SS does not have are the adaptive cruise and auto hold.

I had a GT2 stinger which had ever option. And I added a remote start to it. The Camaro I purchased is comparible.

Make no mistake, I would recommend that everyone test drive and then buy a Stinger.

I never had a Camaro but I have been a member there for a few years as I have bought and sold parts for LS engines.

Camaro is not for everyone, for sure. But for me, it will work just fine.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Makes sense!

Plus I can imagine you can get a lot of pretty solid discounts to mod up your car!

I've seen some crazy Camaro builds at a Muscle Car meet when I was out in Virginia once. Some fast cars doing some good highway pulls.

dealer still looking into the trans leak? hope they actually fix it before selling it off lol. i have heard of diff leaks caused by the BMS diff brace but nothing about trans leaks.

probably gonna patch it with tape or glue, hide it for a bit, then sell it to someone used! :p

Its not my problem anymore. Responsibility of the dealership now. I also hope it does not become someone else's problem. But I wasn't about to go through a months long ordeal and potentially fighting with a dealership to get the car fixed which would likely never be 100% again.

My Stinger should be a be CPO vehicle and if the dealer does their multi-point inspection correctly, they will catch the leak and fix it.

As for the leak, I have read of only one other person here with a trans leak. I have seen many more posts on the Stinger forum and on the G70 forum of having rear main seal leaks
