My Issues at 4000 :(

My stinger is at 21k miles now. But have had the following issues right from the get go. Anyone have issues with the memory seat side bolster not going back to the programmed setting? It’s very annoying that it responds intermittently. I have my seat set to move back when I turn off the car so I can get in and out easily, which also causes the side bolsters to go back to the default setting. But when I turn the car back on, the memory seats go back to the correct setting except the side bolsters. The side bolsters respond intermittently. Also, using the Bluetooth or Apple car play for a phone call, the speakers don’t revert back to all speakers playing sound, only the back speakers come back on. This happens intermittently too. I have reset the radio and even had Kia reset the system for both the seats and radio and still not fixed! Lastly has anyone had issues with the car rough idling or also jumping forward when the auto shut off is disengaged?
KIA is fixing the cell phone volume/fader issue by replacing the radio. There are a couole of other threads that discuss this issue extensively.

There have been a few reports of this issue, but it's not always clear if it is the 15-speaker H-K radio or the 9-speaker version. I've never had a problem, but I always turn the radio off before shutting the car down so it doesn't come on when starting. Might make a difference.

That makes no difference. Nothing does. That’s why it has to be replaced.

I have a 2018 Stinger Premium and currently have the same issue with the radio. I have the 15 speaker and every few days I notice I have to turn the volume up louder than usual and when I go into the settings it has reverted to center sound set to the rear seats. It happens to Apple carplay sometimes and other times it is the radio/sirius xm. It's really annoying. Guess I will have to take it in.

Theres a recall to update software transmission shifting logic, not sure how new it is (I bought used a couple weeks ago and took it in for the wiring harness recall which was never done on mine and they said thetre was also this transmission software update)

Had my 2018 GT2 for 3-4 weeks now. Shifting up from 2nd to 3rd, or 3rd to 4th (can't tell which one, but only one of these) shifts hard when the engine is cold. I bought my stinger with 13k miles, out of state, but with an extended 100,000 mile full "bumper to bumper" warranty.

Do you think the shifting issues or recalls will be covered, if I take it to a local Kia dealership?

Had the radio replaced and the sound problem is gone but now I can't use the uvo. Keeps giving me an unsuccessful registration when it connects to the app. Was on the phone with Kia for over an hour (of course the dealership said that they couldn't do anything for uvo, even though the message that came up said to go to your Kia dealer or call the toll free number which sent me to roadside assistance). After explaining that the radio was replaced and can't register the new (refurb) radio for eservices (uvo), we proceeded to go through the: restart your phone, change the phone cable, upgrade the app, delete the stinger from the app, reset your password, etc... Just shoot me. I asked the rep if the dealer would have to put in the new radio serial number in the system and assign it to my vin # and he said "I don't know, that is the tech department and we will have to put in a work order and have them check into that". Bullet #2 please! So, Apple CarPlay works, Bluetooth works, Sirius works, but no uvo. It's not that big of a deal, but I drive a lot everyday in Chicago traffic and it would be nice to have uvo call 911 if there is an airbag deployment. It took 3 days for Kia to call me back and say they are still trying to resolve the problem.

Uvo has nothing to do in the us with emergency 911. That is done via Bluetooth/car play (if corded) with the phone. Uvo is about as helpful as a pile of stinking horse manure. The “health checks” are not granular. If you do have a fault, a $15 obdIi scam tool will provide more insight. The only thing I ever use it for is to create POI’s then sync them for the built in nav.

I've never used UVO. The few times I tried to use my TracFone to engage with it (proceed with the registration) I got a rejection. Decided the stone age flip phone is pretty stupid for a "smart phone". :P You don't miss what you never had. Hah!

I've had a similar intermittent problem in my '19 GT2. Sometimes the seat will not move back to the original position when I start the car and I am too far from the wheel and pedals. I have to hit 'memory 1" to get it back into position. Fortunately, this hasn't happened often.
Also, sometimes the car takes two tries to start the engine (yes, foot is on brake). And sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries to shift from "P" into "D" (yes, foot on brake).

First time writer. My wife was in a minor fender bender in our GT2 back on September 15th and we are still waiting for a new fender from KIA. We have received at minimum 6 different dates we can expect to receive the fender but it has never arrived. We received a call this morning that our January 3rd date has been moved to February 5th. If the date doesn't slip again we should get our car back 5 months after it was damaged. Is anyone else having problems getting replacement parts for there stingers?

I had the same issue with the mirrors not expanding all the way out. I found out that if you toggle the left, and right controls for the mirrors they will reset.

Just popped 10,000 miles on my GT2 last week. Here's my issues:
- Hatch started rattling maybe 1,000 miles ago, haven't gotten around to the washer fix but I'm gonna do that and move on with my life. I barely notice it as-is.

- On one cold morning the side mirrors sounded all crunchy when they actuated. I thought maybe someone had run into it with their hip and broken something internally but later that day it acted normal and hasn't done it again. I'm guessing maybe some ice built up in there.

- Sometimes the hatch has a mind of its own. Twice, I've pressed the button to lift it up and when it reaches the top it starts to power close, usually while I'm bent down in there messing with whatever's in the trunk! I've managed to get out of the way but times but it happens again I'm gonna take it in.

Overall I'd classify my problems with the car as minor. They haven't diminished my enjoyment or kept my car waiting on repairs. The hatch closing thing does bother me from a safety standpoint though. Bare minimum I'll bring it up at my next scheduled maintenance.

Regarding the mirrors, the Kia in Estonia suggested shutting off autofold during colder temperatures because of ice build-up. I have heard of cases in other car manufacturers where it can ruin the hinge / engine that moves them. So not a specific thing for only Kia.

I didn't know about the air settings. Maybe that explains that one time when the settings changed when I don't recall changing them. Or maybe I accidentally changed it when I was trying to adjust the radio or something. :D
