Good afternoon,

Because my son was going to get my old car (Camery 2008) I needed to go out and find a new car for myself. After spending months driving various sports cars I decided on the stinger and was able to finally find a 2022 GT2 with the scorpion package. It's my first "real" sports car. So I'm a real newbie, still not sure if I have to put premium in the gas tank. However, I have explored all the bells and whistles of the infoentertainment system. Would one day like to spruce up the interior with some lighting.

Hey @First sports car,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Stinger!

I only use premium gas, but everybody has their opinions on if it's necessary.

We have a few interior lighting products on our website, let me know if I can help you find anything!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Stinger GT! That’s one heck of an upgrade from the Toyota Camry. I’m glad you found us. :)

You should use premium (91+ in the US). You could technically run down to 87, but I believe the ECU retards the timing so you lose both power and gas mileage. How much? I don't think anyone has really tested it but for a car like the Stinger what's the point of reducing the power?

Coming from a Camry though? You'll realize that Smiles per Gallon are more important than Miles per Gallon ;)

Welcome aboard, this is also my first car forum, been here since 2007. There is now a ton of information in here about the car & the members are also very helpful.
Its a great car so enjoy everything it has to offer.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
This is my only car forum. The Stinger isn't really a sports car in the sense of design for handling and tracking the car capability. Although a number of owners enjoy tracking the Stinger anyway. The Stinger is a grand touring car, a Grand Turismo in every sense of the words. It's better than a sports car for a road trip or daily driver, far more practical. Of course, we all agree that you made the right choice.

It's a great daily.. although the thing I've always thought was weird about it, is it's got a really small gas tank for a GT.

If the tuning upgrade bug hits you, prepare your wallet. It’s a deep hole but the best hole I’ve been in

I guess your bladder is bigger than the Stinger's gas tank. Mine is not.

Definitely a smaller gas tank than what I was used to. My previous car was a 07 Pontiac Grand Prix gt. Has the 3800 supercharged motor. That car has a 17 gallon tank.

I run premium gas, and as the Stinger is not my DD, I could care less about KPG's or $$/Litre.
As for forums, I am registered on about half a dozen of them. Some are more active than others, and some are more informative and helpful than others.
When I had my 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, the forum I was on back then was terrific. I learned a lot, and saved a ton of money due to the knowledge that was there.
The Mazda forum I was on was OK. It was geared more to the CX-5 than the 6 that I had, but still pretty active.
I recently joined a Lexus forum after buying my RX350, and so far has been a disappointment.
I joined this forum last year when shopping for the Stinger, and I would rate it very highly.
