mpg in Canadianese

What kind of mpg should I be expecting? But the car does L/100km or some cryptic thing like that.

Can someone give me a range I should be aiming for in Canadianese?

We've been on the Metric System for 35+ years and everyone still refers to gas consumption as mileage here ,

Here in NZ we call it fuel consumption.

For an easy conversion to MPG (imperial) from L/100km, simply divide 282 by your L/100km rating.

Example: 9.5L/100km

282/9.5 = 29.7MPG

Well, I'm getting about 22MPG combined average (slightly better than quoted), which is about 10.69L/100km, so anything lower than that is probably "good."

If I'm driving economically, i try to aim for under 10 on the highway, 8 if it's a flat highway.

City usually jumps up to 15+. I do more highway than city driving so i try to keep the average below 12

Sporty driving, all numbers go out the window.

Funny thing is that this is almost the same as my old car which had half the HP.
