• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Minnesooooooota

Im here! Also twin cities (golden valley). Don't see a lot of others out there either.

Im in a Black GT1. You?

Hi. This your "official" intro, I see. How is your Sunset Yellow looking after a couple of weeks? You said that other Yellows you enquired about were different shades; but you got a good resprayed one, I understand.

I'm in South Minneapolis next to Minnehaha Falls. Yellow GT. I've seen one black one, two white ones, and a blue with black rims that must live somewhat near me. With the amount it appears he's done to the car he's prob on these forums lol.

Hey Merlin. I'll be posting an update to my original post about my car's paint job here soon.

Long story short I'm just now noticing my trunk is a different color than the rest. It's difficult to tell, especially in sun which is why I didn't notice at the dealer. But on an overcast day it's there. I love the car though and love the color. I think the paint job is legit and I believe they used all one color, but different materials painted with the same color can give you a slightly different shade from what I've seen.

Only complaint with the car is that annoying hard downshift it does that I've seen many people moan about on here. One of these days I'll have them reset the TCU. Thanks for the warm welcome!

From all that I've read on here over the last two years, Sunset Yellow is, hands down, the most tricky color to match across the steel and plastic panels. And then we toss in OC(D) observations and Kia is damned if they do and damned if they don't. Hah.:p

I'd just be curious to know how many other people are running out to take a magnifying glass to their yellow Stingers after seeing my posts haha.

Off-color is most noticeable at a middling distance, like standing back and walking around the car, LOOKING for the discrepancies in shading. :P That's the OC(D) part.

If you can walk up to your car from any angle in any light and a difference in shade doesn't snag your attention, then that's as good as it gets. :D

Hello, have a 2020 awd gt in Panthera metal. Not too far from St Paul. Not the car/color I wanted but I had to get what I could afford. Wanted a ceramic silver gt2 with red interior. Then I was gonna settle and get a new gt1, couldn't find anything under 40. Paid 36 out the door.

I'm getting kinda used to not having a sunroof now. It's just so dark in the interior without a sunroof, especially with the all black headliner. I probably had my sun shade open without the roof being open 90% of the time on my Grand Prix so the extra light is missed.

Seen a handful of Stingers around my area couple of Micro blues (my 2nd color choice) 1 white premium, 1 black one, that's bout it.

Any stingers out this way? I've only seen a handful. I'm up in the twin cities.

I am in the southwest suburbs. Got a white 2019 GT almost two years now. I feel like a one-man advertising agency. Almost every day I will get questions and looks from people like this thing is still a concept car. I absolutely love the fact that it’s not another Corvette, BMW, Audi etc. — It is pretty funny how uppity and weird a lot of other sports car owners get when they see my machine. LOL

Three days ago some goober in a heavy modded BMW pulled out in front of me as I was waiting to make a turn. He saw my car and immediately decided he was going to put on a show. He wound that thing up tight and proceeded to do a big screaming burn out complete with loud pop, bangs from the exhaust in between shifts as he was passing me going the opposite direction. He didn’t even notice the police squad tucked in on the side of the road.
Next thing you know - screaming siren with the cop flooring it after him.
Something tells me someone got an exhibition that day, like pretty much guaranteed.

Hey everyone! Had my Stinger for 2 years now and just saw this Minnesota forum (I usually browse the other ones). I have 2018 GT2 in downtown Minneapolis. I've seen quite a few and usually try to wave or give a thumbs up, but haven't really gotten a response back haha. I have a few cosmetics (E badge, Stinger badge, tint, lip spoiler, black roof). So far I love the car! Hope to see you all around!

How goes it?

Hello!

I'm in the northwestern area near Elk River! I've had my Stinger for a bit over a year now and have been on the forums for the same amount of time! I've only seen a handful of Stingers (yellow, white, Panthera metal, red, blue). Stinger owners are the nicest since we know we're rare. Always a fun time running into one and waving like mad!

Nice looking car. I'm pretty close to you, I'm sure you'll see me in my yellow one cruising around at some point.

I've seen a yellow one on 394 East before! Unfortunately I was going the opposite way, but I'll be sure to wave. I love the yellow!

I saw the 1st yellow Stinger in the wild this morning. Was dropping off my car at Lakeville Kia this morning to get undercoating and remote start done. Yellow with E badge on the front and dark tint. Was pretty sharp looking and I usually hate yellow cars.

If you said Inver Grove Kia you could have been describing my exact car lol. Same day and everything

I saw a Ceramic Silver go through Spring Park, MN on Friday 9/18 around 3pm or so.....on this forum? I believe rims were black in color. Exhaust did not sound stock...I was at the BP Amoco gas station filling up my Mallorca Blue G70.

Ceramic Silver GT2 AWD since 2/2019. Love it! I'm in the east Twin Cities suburbs (Lake Elmo/Woodbury area).

I've got the ARK GRiP exhaust which I really like too. (
