May 2019 Stinger Sales Figures

I got mine at 9pm on the 31st. The dealers here aren’t really moving them it seems. They only have 5-6 at any given time and they aren’t parked on the ramps or even on the showroom floor.

I noticed that as well when I bought mine in March 19, I went to 3 dealers. 1 dealer had them in the back on the second floor of a 2 floor parking garage away from foot traffic this dealer Fusulo is very well known here in Florida for his HEAVY advertising of all his sales gimics (2 cabins cruise for 4 with purchase, basketball shot for free car, he comes around rips up your contract for free car). The second dealer where I purchased only had 2 stingers had to get mine from another dealer that I didn't visit this dealer had most of their cars located on a remote lot a couple of miles away. The third dealer only had 1 stinger. As for advertising I've never seen an ad for a stinger and have only seen the stinger on TV in a general ad for Kia cars not related to stingers.

Not "my" dealer. They have two on display, one in the showroom and one outside. The Stingers are prominently on the front row as you approach the dealership from the main entrance. Typically they have anywhere from a dozen to 16 at a time. They have two locations and total inventory is twice that of course.

1,410 is at least back over the 1k mark and not bad when placed into proper context.

Q50 - 1,857
IS - 1,533
G70 - 1,447
4 Series - 1,340

As the G70 started to finally be available in volume, likely took some sales from the Stinger.

But the Stinger is in the ballpark against it Asian and most direct German competition.

Still, the refresh w/ the presumed powertrain and interior upgrades can't come here quick enough.

That’s not bad.

I helped in the May figures by buying mine on May 15th. I guess it didn't help it enough.

So, 1,410, instead of 1,409. That's a difference. :D

My dealer had at least 11 New Stingers on the lot but they were all buried at the furthest back corner of the lot. They hadn’t been washed in weeks and nobody seems to care about them at all.

Under close inspection I realized why. They had hail damage from a storm that rolled through in the spring. The cars had dents just splattered all over their top surfaces.

Such a shame they had the Red interiors for every exterior color that it comes with. All ruined in my opinion.

I haven’t asked them what kind of deal they offer for them because my current lease doesn’t end until December. Not sure I would buy a hail damaged car anyway.

Infiniti is the one struggling the most right now. Their Q50/Q60 sales were abysmal for June and they will only get worse if they don’t offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for 2020.

Good grief! Surely a dealership has insurance against that sort of thing?! It would be daft to have hundreds of thousands of dollars of inventory exposed to the sky 24/7/365 simply awaiting "acts of God". But if that's the case, why would the dealership not fix the cars pronto?

Interesting fact of questionable value. I surveyed three dealers to find on hail damage, their deductible is across all cars, not by individual car. Two had deductibles of $25,000 and the other was $50,000.

Is quite possible this dealer is waiting until the pdr guys are done doing insurance claim work and have nothing to do. Then they charge a fraction of the original cost to the dealer and an insurance claim is not filed against the VIN.
