New install of JB4 with fuel wires. Denso’s (1 step colder) gapped to 0.022” installed and 1 week old. No issues with plugs prior to installing JB4.

Australian 98RON from Mobil.

I’m not sure what to look for with the ignition timing but have been looking to see if many/any variation across the cylinders as boost climbs. Map1 had zero variation other than 2.8 on first 2 timing blocks of pull, so progressed to Map2.

Not long pulls and it’s not completely dry here at the moment so just wanted to check to see if any concerns before next steps.

Pull was full throttle (no kick down) in 3rd with minor pull in 4th.

Log looks normal, all is well

Yippee! Thanks.

Will sit back and enjoy it for a bit then.

Doesn't look to be pulling any timing, map 2 with gas looks to be perfect

How do I know if it’s pulling timing? Do I look across the cylinders and see if there are values in there?

I know latest version shows additional timing. So if zeros across cylinders I assume no timing adjustments? And if numbers I know it’s having to adjust for knock?

Correct. If you want raw timing, set Future Use A to 1, from 0

Timing adjustments seem easier to read to me.

Is it also fair to assume a few adjustments in occasional cylinders are ok. The same adjustment in all cylinders is less desirable and showing a issue with boost. And different numbers in all cylinders is a problem?

Was it 3.5 that was showing timing to the point of being a big problem?

With the latest firmware timing in 2-6 reflect corrections by default. None are best, but on pump fuels if you tune for none you end up leaving a lot of power on the table. So it's more like a balancing act or rather an art evaluating them.

I got a couple of runs in this afternoon but it’s not completely dry yet, so wheelspin is the biggest challenge as is visible in the logs. I tried Map2 and Map3 to see how the timing was impacted.

I can’t see much timing pulled on Map3 but was also keen to get some expert advice as usual to make sure that’s correct. This is still pump gas, RON98, so I was expecting some timing to be pulled but maybe conditions or the lower grip levels are affecting that?

More testing today and with the weather improving I’m now seeing some timing on pulls. I tried Map3 quickly but Map2 0-60 is quicker so I’ll progress with that only for the moment.

I’m pretty happy with a 4.7s time considering I’m still getting crazy wheelspin in first. But I’m hoping to pull more boost out until I have that eliminated.

Currently have boost drop at:

1st: 7.5 (this needs to go up)
2nd: 0.9 (I think I can lower this further)
3rd: 0

Seems good to me here. 0-60 is a tricky measurement for RWD. Less to do with power and more to do with grip/road conditions.

Someone mentioned you can run Map3 on E10 in Australia. This is supposed to be equivalent to RON 95 with an E10 blend. Ran it tonight and it certainly adds “less traction”, which seems fun but doesn’t appear to be faster.

Checking timing it looks borderline. Can someone more in the know confirm?
