Yep need to test every time. Takes 3-4 minthat's cool! wouldn't you have to test it all the time though? what if the ethanol content is 70% next time?
You can buy the inline testers that attach to your fuel return line. They are expensive.I wish e85 testing just takes seconds like taking your blood sugar.
If you plan on running E on a regular basis, it might just be a worthy investment. I have said before on this forum; not all E85 is E85You can buy the inline testers that attach to your fuel return line. They are expensive.
The issue with those is you don’t know what the pump has till you run it in your car.If you plan on running E on a regular basis, it might just be a worthy investment. I have said before on this forum; not all E85 is E85
I thought with the kit at least, you could check a sample before putting gallons in your tank? Otherwise, @StingertimeNC suggestion is the ticket. The issue with those is you don’t know what the pump has till you run it in your car.
Question about the CPI. I’m planning on purchasing the CPI kit but don’t have an upgraded intercooler because I haven’t seen any that are compatible with my g80 sport. Is there a way of installing the 7th injector without the injection port in the upgraded intercooler?Get the fuel-it kit from BMS. It is completely worth it. For me to get E42, I put 7.3 gallons of E85 in at the chevron that I always go to. It is posted as E85, but in reality it is just below it. Then the rest 91 octane. My tank is 15.8 gallons. (G70) Once you have the Fuel-It kit, start with 5 gallons of E85 and the rest 91 octane. Takes about 2 minutes of driving for the sensor to pick up the ethanol content. See what the read out is and if its E30, then you are good to go. If it is below, then add a tiny bit more E85 next fill up. Trial and error. Best to start off low E content and go up from there.
Anything over E30 and you will start to have HPFP crashing issues. I have CPI so I am able to run up to E50 without crashing the HPFP. Also, I visit AZ a bit and there seems to be plenty of stations
Oh okay thanks. Do you know if there’s a way without tapping the charge pipe? I want to keep the engine as unmodified as possible just in case I want to put everything back to stock. I’ve heard of throttle body specters with charge ports installed in them but haven’t seen any for the 3.3tYou would need a 1/8" npt bit to tap the stock charge pipe going up to the throttle body. Pretty easy and straight forward.
I don't know anyone that has one made for our cars yet. Only other way is to tap the stock pipe. You can get the stock pipe for pretty cheap though if you ever want to go back to stock.Oh okay thanks. Do you know if there’s a way without tapping the charge pipe?
