Map 1 runs better then map 2. Why is that?

I did a couple pulls with both map 1 and map 2. Why am I getting better times with map 1 then map 2?

Sometimes a couple map1 pulls then progressively moving to map2 really works well for my car. I run 91 and my car will pull less and less timing as I do more pulls on map 2 after 2-3 map 1 pulls.
