LSD Should be Standard Across All Trims

You can buy the LSD (Limited Slip Differential) in for the Stinger and get it installed at a shop. It will cost you no more than 1 thousand bucks.
Oh sorry, missed your reply.

Can you tell me a little more about this? What kind of a shop offer aftermarket LSD for the Stinger? I would love to have it installed before next winter.

Title , 2018 Kia stinger GT twin turbo V6 first drive review (2 of 2 ) . On YouTube

Thanks. Video could be referring to all RWD Stingers, but the company makes the diffs for AWD cars from other companies and we know the G70 AWD already has the LSD, so I think it's just a matter of time, or, Kia marketing will make the wrong choice and not offer it on AWD Stingers. I would just like to know one way or the other, now.

I totally understand ( NOW ) . Back in our younger days we would have waited a few years after a new model came out those days over . ( Motto to live bye ) Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming " WOO HOO, what a ride " .

I am only impatient about things that I shouldn't have to bother about in the first place. There should be a top of the line AWD Stinger with LSD and bi-modal exhaust...and the covered cup holders. I would be happy to pay the extra over the Canadian GT Limited that has everything except those three. I am not given the option to do so, which is where the annoyance and aggravation comes from.

I can only imagine how pissed I would be if I was in the US with even worse configuration options.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
We basically bought it for the zoom factor , you know you're basic family sedan that hauls ass, and sticks to the road like a slot car . Yes it really would be nice to have the 360 camera and the cover over the cupholders the 2015 genesis we got rid of had a cupholder covers did look very nice but then again we're in the US , I think the last part of the world to get the stinger. We have to take the color combinations exterior interior that Kia believes is good for the US . And what's with that pop up screen looks like a total aftermarket type of thing , even though a lot of manufactures are going in that direction. Hey could be worse Kia would not have made the stinger, that would left us with the genesis G70 , the only way we could have gotten the 3.3T for a reasonable price. But that would've been a bummer because they totally screwed the pooch with the ass end of that car now there's a generic looking hinder , and the diamond tuck upholstery , come on it's 2018 , not 1970s we're not all going down to Tijuana to get our upholstery tuck and roll or diamond tuck , which was cool back in the day . So unlike back in the days when the big boys Chevy ,Ford ,Chrysler etc. would let you build it anyway you wanted it are long gone ,now all we're left with is which package would you like.
Now with all that said just get out there and drive the damn thing. Drive ,now there's something else that's going to be obsolete within the next 10 to 15 years if not sooner , Technology overload God help us all .

So is the torque vectoring of the AWD with torque shift from front to back not enough to compensate for lack of LSD?

Torque vectoring is side-to-side and is designed 100% for handling. Proactive mechanical or electro-mechanical LSD is superior to reactive brake-based. Simple. Very little to nothing to do with front-to-back differential activity. We don't really care about torque vectoring when up to our ankles in mud or snow or water...it's for high performance handling. The stability control system will handle any needs in the slippery stuff just fine.

As I just said, there are different combinations of options in different markets. Canadian G70's with the otherwise same drive train as the Stinger (3.3TT and AWD) have the LSD (Limited Slip Differential) (Limited Slip Differential) as mandatory/standard equipment.
Where does it state the Canadian AWD cars have limited slip with the AWD? I don't see any published specs from Genesis for the Canadian G70 as yet.

?!?!?!?!?!

Literally, type "Genesis G70 Canada" into Google and follow the glaringly obvious link to Pre-Order. The specs are highlighted near the top of the very first page that comes up. It's also documented elsewhere.

Wow, what's with the attitude? I'd hate to be at your table when they leave the toy out of your happy meal ... :(

If I'd seen the 'glaringly obvious' mechanical specs on the pre-order link I got from Genesis (or after searching 'elsewhere'), then I obviously wouldn't have asked what I thought to be a pretty innocuous and straightforward question.

Thanks for the info - I guess ...

Sorry, your original message implied that I was spouting BS because you had already checked or confirmed that I was wrong ("I don't see any published specs from Genesis for the Canadian G70 as yet"). I was a bit flabbergasted because this is not secret or difficult to acquire information, unlike lots of things related to Stinger.

I was at a dealer a couple weeks ago, and he swears you can only get the LSD on the GT2. On Kia's "Build Your Own", I can't find a way to add it either. I really only want the GT, with the LSD anyway. So you're saying that it IS an option on the base GT?

KIA has chosen to not allow us to get or order LSD on certain models. No AWD cars in Canada or US can get it and, inexplicably, certain RWD models in the US cannot get it, either. The point of this thread is that some of us believe it should be an option on any Stinger, though it would be even better if it was standard on all.

This issue may disappear when more parts are available, or it may not if it's another KIA marketing department genius move that has managed to annoy just about everyone paying attention in every country...but for different reasons in each one (based on which options are selectively not available at any cost).

no it didn't. he was just asking you a question. you need to stop taking everything people post as being somehow against you.

First off, I didn't interpret his question as one to me--it was in the thread to anyone who could answer. I answered because I thought it odd that someone who was clearly interested in the differences between the G70 and the Stinger (sister vehicles) would take the time to question my factual comment versus talking the same or less time to look it up themselves, since the info is readily available at the official and expected source. It isn't personal at all for me.

it didn't seem he was being nasty. life is a lot easier when you don't assume people are calling you out.

I didn't think he was being nasty. You thought I thought that. He thought I was being snippy or had some "attitude," which I just admitted I did. My attitude was that I thought someone should look up facts for themselves if they are readily available rather than questioning others. I try to always do that myself, and I question others' comments a lot, so I have lots of practice. I also prefer threads to stay on topic and deal with content instead of being derailed with people's impressions of why who said what to whom. @SteveCo had the freedom and option to just think that Collins guy is a prick, but hey, the info was right there staring me in the face...and not waste others' time making personal comments or casting doubt on info that others might also find useful. Confirming facts and information that KIA chooses to obfuscate is pretty much the only reason I am here. I have received more than I have given, so when I do know something, I like to share. I do NOT waste everyone else's time spouting-off about things I know little to nothing about or getting involved in other people's sniping.

To respect my own practices, I will not reply again to anything other than topic content in this thread.

I have a base GT myself and wish it has LSD as well, I'm holding out for an aftermarket company to release one or maybe trade up within 2 years for a newer Stinger with "possibly" improved LSD such as E-LSD that I head read about somewhere on these forums.
