Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

Not with jb4. TCU tune you can leave it on.

dumb question, can I pass state inspection with the JB4, and the TCU tune?
TCU no problem, they can’t tell.
JB4 is another story. If it is an emissions inspection, not only will they probably flag it visually, but they plug into the OBD port and if you use that for the JB4, they can’t plug in.
On a positive note, it’s not hard to remove the JB4 for the inspection.

Can I use an OBD2 splitter?
Or do I have to disconnect the battery and remove it completely?
Also can I remove the jb4 without disconnecting the battery?
My inspector is a cool guy hi did my secondary cats deletes, so visual inspection is not a problem.

Don’t know about a splitter.
Don’t need to disconnect battery, just open the hood, lock the doors and take key out of range and wait 10 minutes or so for computer to go to sleep.
Cool that you know the inspector

Okay I will try to do that, yeah the inspector is a close friend. Thank you for your time.

Hi everyone, this is an update on the lozic TCU tune, I placed an order on November 26th, and I received the TCU today December 1st, initial thoughts I'm very impressed with this tune in eco/normal I didn't notice any difference, but in sport it's faster, crisp, and smoother downshifts, I went with -8% shift RPM in the hopes of shifting under 6000 RPM, and its shifting around 5900ish boost staying up! Also when I'm doing 80mph on the highway the minute I press the brakes (very light like 5%) the TCU will downshift to higher RPM at 3500 for potential racer Honda lol, I will include a log for you guys to check out. Ignore the correction it's bad gas.
Sorry for the bad writing, English is a second language!
I‘ e been trying to find my original email from Lozic and can’t find the price quote from a few months ago. How much was the TCU? a friend has convinced my wife that a TCU tune is now a good thing after all my upgrades.

890usd.

That’s also the reason that why I’m staying with snow stage 4 even if I have JB4 on my car. I need to control the meth flow map for low boost/rpms spray for track day accurately so I don’t flood my engine. No simpler controller can do the same job.
Is the JB4 WMI not progressive?

Is the JB4 WMI not progressive?
It is. Just me being a control freak and trying to lower the risk as much as possible. As for now no one ever flooded their engine with low rpm/psi spray controlled by JB4.

California no way in hell.

I posted my log in the FB group and it’s not the JB4. Yes, I have EWGs. I sent Lozic the same info I provided here as well as the FB group and he hasn’t had a good explanation. He also hasn’t offered to have it sent back to be checked to make sure he actually added Rev Limiter Off. My last request was to send it back for a full or partial refund. I appreciate everyone trying to help. I have pulled the TCU and awaiting a response from Lozic.

Wondering if this ever got sorted out? I also have a 2022 G70 AWD, JB4 and looking to add the Lozic TCU to solve the exact problem you're describing. When I launch there's a significant delay before the car takes off, I was hoping the TCU boost limit off would solve the problem, maybe @carguy83 there's a misunderstanding with RMP/Boost limit, the TCU dones't remove RPM limits just lets you build more boost at launch correct?

My JB4 logs line up with this, I don't get full boost until well after launch, there's no tire spin at all even on map3, does the TCU tune basically allow you to launch harder by getting a few PSI spooled up vs stock where it gets limited?

I have the Lozic TCU and I usually launch at 2800 RPM, without the TCU the conservative launch mode only gets you to 2200. The engine can’t build much boost at 2200.
Not sure about the G70, it doesn’t have launch control right?

It does yes, same launch control behavior as the Stinger

OK, then the Lozic TCU should let you get higher RPM's at launch, higher RPM=more boost.

Make sense so what exactly does the torque limit off setting do? This is from the Lap3 page but I assume Lozic functions the same
  • For your vehicle safety, we recommend launching as soon as the vehicle hits 2000RPM or 0-5PSI.
  • You may launch it at higher PSI at your own risk.
  • If you are not familiar with this process, please make sure to feather the throttle and monitor the RPM & Boost level and practice. Again, Do not hold the RPM(stalling the torque converter) longer 1 second, and make sure to launch the vehicle as soon as you hit the target RPM/PSI.
This is worded as though you can rev freely up to 6k if you wanted to while in launch control mode and that you can sort of 'pick' your launch RPM point.
I'd have to assume that factory the boost is cut even at 2000 RPM, is that what the torque limit off setting does, allows boost to build overriding the factory cut at the same RPM?

The 3.3 can’t make much boost at 2000 RPM, the turbos just don’t spin enough.
There is a torque signal (I surmise) that the TCU sends to prevent too much torque and that limits how high the RPM can go. The tuned TCU turns that signal off.
Yes, you need to be careful with this since you could easily damage something.
I have my timing at the strip so i know which tree light to mash the throttle and when to release the brake. I end up launching at about 2700 RPM and 6 PSI boost. I get no hesitation, just a hard launch. My jb4 logs verify this.
I have AWD so no concern about traction, if it were RWD, then a whole different approach would be required.

Do you hold the throttle to the floor as you're build upto to 2700rpm and release break - launch? Or are you feathering the throttle to 2700?
