Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

Surprisingly yes! Didn't break anything!
Excellent that gives me some confidence! I was thinking about wrapping the downpipes minus the high flow cats. Do you think using exhaust wrap on the downpipes would cut down on heat soak or am I wasting my time? From what I have observed the Stinger heat soaks easily. IAT rise very fast when sitting at idle. And shut the car off go into the store then come back out IAT are crazy high.

I'm in seattle...so normally cold, iat at idle I get up to 100,I didn't wrap anything...

When wmi hits it drops down to 40s last time I watched it...I laughed and decided to push my mixture higher

That's crazy cold brrr. I've considered adding meth. Did you tell Lozic you wanted a meth tune or did you get the same 1.5 bar tune I have? I was curious if I would need another remap if I added meth. I was in Tacoma for 4 yrs (McChord AFB) the summers are beautiful there.

I disclosed my whole planned build when I bought the car, so meth tune, new intake, hfc...all of it.

I'm north of Seattle so think more snohomish county, I run through some of these backroads at 90 without a hint of slip or issue...love the car

Sorry to bother you with so many questions but do you remember if you selected any DTC (check engine light) off when you filled out your order sheet? Such as P0420 or P0430. We will have the same NGT HFC downpipes once I install mine. Also has any catalyst CEL occurred since you have been using the NGT's?

No CEL with lozic or stock ecu, stock ECU I did hit overboost CEL.

I tested it because I wasn't sure if I screwed up something when putting on the NGT, or if it was something unhappy with the tune.

When I overboost (rarely now) with lozic tune it just dumps all boost from the system until I let off then try again.

I'm happy to answer all the questions! I think most of my issues have been because of sport+ and my driving behaviors. I end up with odd boost bursts, periods of low boost where I think it should be giving more but it doesnt...then it suddenly does! I feel like it's more how drive and keep light on the throttle, when I push hard it's basically flawless...the plight of using this as a daily.

What exactly does Overboost feel like? I wasn’t doing a hard pull, but in 4th or 5th gear it just felt like it stuttering which I wonder was Overboost. The car just couldn’t pull like it did before. I have the 1.5 bar ecu tune with just bolt ons.

If it is Overboost, should I be grabbing ewg wires for the JB4 to manage it, or would it be worth it to ship the ecu back to Lozic to fine tune some changes?

From what I understand if you hit overboost your Stinger/G70 will go into limp mode and you will know it. But someone else can probably answer better than me.

What was the conditions when the shudder occurred? Was you running E mixtures. Outside temp? Fuel quality? Are you using the HKS plugs? Many many variables that could create shudder.

55 degrees outside, 93 for gas. Plugs are HKS gapped at 0.022, k&n cai, VT snorkels, bms fmic, bms occ… Doing some research it looks like a CEL should’ve popped if it was true Overboost. It didn’t pull hard anymore above like 50-55 mph, just shuddered. The intakes sounded like they were shuddering to pull air as well.

Was it a one time thing or is it reoccurring? If it was a one time thing I wouldn't be to worried about it. I didn't gap down my HKS plugs. From my understanding it's NOT necessary for Lozic's tune. The HKS plugs come gapped .026-.028 from the factory

Hello fellow Hoosier!

It just did it this morning but I haven’t really had the chance to push it again. I’ll slap the jb4 on there later to log it, just to see if it catches anything.

Overboost isn't full limp mode, full limp mode made it to where my car wouldn't go above 2k RPM and the dash was lit up like a xmas tree. My LozicECU doesn't throw CEL on overboost, but my stock ECU did.

Overboost is where under a pull, your turbo looses all pressure to protect the engine, to me it feels like you went from flooring it to 0 throttle.

What you describe sounds like fine tuning needed. I'm far from an expert and I haven't been tuning for long. Since you have the jb4 I would take the logs to the experts and ask them for help.

I ment to say it's not necessary to gap down the plugs to .022. Good luck in your diagnosis. I hope it was a isolated incident for you. I haven't had one single issue with my ECU yet. But I'm upgrading my downpipes and getting ready to send my ECU back to Lozic for updated mapping to handle the high flow downpipes.

I'm in south central Indiana. The outskirts of Louisville, KY. What part of IN your from?

It's crazy how complex and dynamic the programming in the ECU is. Gives me more respect for tuners like Lozic that can bring a quality product for crazy people like me to enjoy. It's a constant yearning to go faster

The complexity is the best part for me, I like figuring things out and learning new technical skills...otherwise I get bored.

Most people who find out I modded my brand new car look at me like I'm insane for it

Lozic told me the Stinger/G70 ECU is similar to the 2018 Porsche ECUs in terms of complexity and capability. I think it's impressive that there are so many cars running tuned ECUs and we never really hear about failures.

Yeah I read that as well, it might be time to swap out plugs anyways here in a little bit. I got the a type popcorn tune and the downshift pops have been a ton of fun to listen to.

Up in south bend, so opposite side of the state from you

A couple of questions I would like to ask referring to the order sheet.

1. If I select catalyst heating on cold start OFF. Will my cold starts be louder? I'm thinking they will. I've noticed since using the Lozic ECU my cold starts are not as loud as the factory ECU. Which is nice to not hear the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) banging away. But at the same time I kinda miss the loud cold starts.

2. It appears that now there is a option to: Stop and go, ISG function off. If I choose YES will I never have to push the button to disable the auto start/stop again? I prefer to not have my engine shut off everytime I come to a stop. And for me its annoying to push a extra button everytime I get into the car. This is a nice new feature of the Lozic ECU if available.

I asked Lozic these questions and I'm waiting for a reply. Figured I would ask here to while I'm at it.

1- See next post- I’m not qualified.
2- I just ordered my ECU and I chose the ISG to be turned off. Lozic said that is exactly what you would think. You no longer have to press the button. It will always keep the engine running.
