I've had this whining noise for a while now on my 2021 GT2 that I only hear at low speeds (0-40mph or so) when I take off. The sound starts semi-quiet and gets a bit louder as the vehicle speed increases and then I no longer here it after 40mph or so. Just kind of annoying. Researching online it seems like an idler pulley can cause the issue. Has anyone here replaced one of these on the 3.3 engine? I can't seem to find any tutorials online that explain how to do the repair; the pulley seems buried down in a hard-to-reach area though. The part is only like $40 so at least that's a plus.

Link to 3.3 diagram I did find and the appropriate part:
BELTS & PULLEYS.. Kia Stinger | Hyman Bros Kia Parts, Midlothian VA

It is part #5 on that link.

Thoughts, suggestions, help?

Thx

Replacing belt tensioner is pretty easy job. Took me 20 min. Remove intercooler merge pipe section, and you'll have all the room you need.

Did you replace just the $40 pulley or the whole assembly?

Did you have the same symptoms, or how did you decide your tensioner was bad?

I can't replicate the sound in park (just revving the engine which seems odd); I have to be driving the car before I hear the sound.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
No. I replaced it as 100k maintenance item. Along with serpentine belt and coolant hoses. Just something I do on all my cars.
