Hey Everyone.

New stinger owner here from Ohio.

I traded in my 2018 Mazda6 GTR in Pearl White for a 2021 Stinger GT1 AWD in Ceramic Silver a little over a week ago and have been loving every minute of it.

I’ve already started diving into some threads, trying to soak up as much knowledge you all have been kind enough to write down. A lot of good info so far, and I’ll try to catch up best I can.

Even though this car is a blast to drive stock, I’m already getting the itch to start modding. I've only done the basics, by de-badging all but the STINGER badge on the rear, installed the E badge on the front, and E center caps over the 19” wheels. Gonna keep the stock wheels as my winter set, they came with the MICHELIN Primacy Tour tires. I'll be picking a new summer wheel/tire set, lighter rims and stickier tires, closer to Spring.

Currently I’m looking into the larger air horns, and possibly drop in AEM or K&N air filters. The idea of installing a “CAI”/SRI came to mind, but I don’t want any loss of low end power from the heat of the engine (since most of the intake systems I've seen so far have no or little heat shields). But, the Agency Power CAI system looks intriguing. Still researching the other bolt ons: OCC, anti-sway bars, cat-back, downpipes, and intercooler. Don't know much about the tunes available, but JB4 and Tork seem to be popular choices for these Stingers.

Enough of my rambling for now. Looking forward to more conversations about this sweet ride.

welcome and be careful....once you begin the modding, you may find it difficult to stop.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your new Stinger GT! I’m glad you found us. :)

Welcome to the Hive! Lots of great info here for sure. Sway bars, are perhaps the most universally loved upgrade - I know I love mine, and look at the all the Agency Power discussions... IIRC they had some poor fitment issues (But my memory could be wrong, so don't take my word for it)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Congrats and welcome!!

Welcome! Great first post. Definitely sway bars, rear and perhaps front. I went with Eibachs and also WL endlinks as I got a good package deal.
Trying to forestall the urge for power mod... Enjoy aand keep us up to date on your progress!

Another Ohio owner, good to have you! Whereabouts are you?

Thanks for the welcome.

Ha, tell me about it. It all started with a 1970 Chevy Nova that I modified with my dad, when I was 16. After that, I've never kept a car stock.

I will definitely be doing the sway bars sometime soon. The car has a little too much body roll for my liking. Thanks for the info, I will read up on them as much as I can before I pull the trigger. Injen, BMS, K&N and JT are the others that have my interest, but again, still researching.

Thanks. The Eibach set is what I have my sights on now, I'll probably be purchasing those within the month. Ha, I know, the urge for more power is real. But, these things are pretty quick stock. I see you have the K&N Typhoon intakes, they seem to be a popular choice around here, how do you like them? Any low-end power loss?

I'm in the NE region, near Medina. I see you're in the SW area...near Cinci?

Welcome and congrats. I got my 2020 this past August. Just getting the last mod(Eibach Sway Bars) installed today. Can wait for Spring to come soon enough. Want to give the baby a wash, clay bar, wax and remove the badges and replace with the oval "E" I have for front and back.

Welcome! I'm in the Dayton area myself.

Thanks for the welcome.

More north towards Dayton. I never see Stingers around this area but it's good that people are starting to notice how good the car is.

I'm sure I've seen you driving at some point. Mine is a garage queen for the winter so I blend in well with the Malibu lol

With the absurd amount of low end grunt at like 1300 RPM, there is no noticable loss of torque with CAIs. I've run the K&N system for over a year now and if there is some loss of low end power, I've never felt it.

Can confirm. (And the sound is wonderful!)

Nice to see there's an active crowd here.

Nice. I'm sure the car will be a blast around the corners. Same here, I'm itching for some sun and warmer temps.

Good to hear. As I'm reading more about the intakes on these threads, the more I'm leaning into getting one sometime soon. Now, just need to figure out which one to go with.

Howdy and welcome. The sway bars also firm up the steering, and oversteer is gone. I just did a four tire drift/slide on a freeway onramp. The steering was consistent throughout; before I put the front bar on (a year and a half after the rear bar) in the middle of that turn the steering would have snapped at me. :D Not anymore.

Why are sway bars a popular upgrade??

Exactly what I was going to say. I still giggle like a child sometimes when I get on it and hear the turbos.
