Hi Everyone! I am looking for help with achieving a louder sound system. I have the stock amplifier on the 2019 GT. The system is nice, it's just that I listen to many different types of music so a lot of older songs just aren't loud enough. I am thinking I need a 5 channel amp because I will also add a sub. May I have help with this project?

Adding a single channel amplifier and small sub might be all you need to do. In most cases people have the bass cranked up on the stock system to try to achieve loudness and the stock speakers fall on their face trying to keep up. Adding a single sub and amp to pick up the low frequencies allows you to turn the bass back down and not distort the other speakers when playing them loud. You are no longer relying on the speakers in the car to produce the low end so the power from the stock amplifier is used more efficiently and therefore less distortion is created. Just my experience with 25 years in the industry.

On page three of this older thread I outline what I bought to work with the existing amp/head unit. I'm still enjoying this upgrade.

The tl:dr -- I swapped out all but the sub speakers under the front seats and it improved the quality a lot. It's also fairly cost effective, since these need to be replaced anyway but depending on need the stock subs might be sufficient once the other speakers are upgraded. Adding a sub and amp, on top of the other speakers, exceeding my minimalist budget.
