Absolutely devastating. I sell Kias, I don't own a Stinger, but I have a sticky note on my monitor with the number I need to buy a Stinger. It might never happen for me now

To me the Stinger represents something you'd never expect. A seriously incredible car from a brand you would never think would come out of.

It is not like they will disappear all of the sudden. New ones are still available. Used ones will be available for many more years. I personally have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it is sad, because that is such a wonderful car. But on the other, i will be driving pretty rare car, so it is cool.

If they stop building them Q2 2022, you'll see the last ones probably Q1 2023 being sold off would be my guess. I don't think it's "going to be years" unfortunately. Basically until they sell, and depending on how aggressive they are in clearing inventory. I just wonder what will take over the Flagship status, unless they just leave the Telluride there, or maybe even promote the EV6 as the Flagship

Who knows what Kia is thinking. Find it silly that they're keeping the K900 around when that thing has had dismal sales.

I'd likely be jumping over to Genesis after this car, but that won't be for quite some time and the Stinger might stay in my fleet as a fun car anyway.

Shame to see the Stinger going away after only being on sale for just a few years...

Four, five threads now? All from Korean car blog. Just because a video says "RIP Stinger" doesn't make it real until Kia says it is finished.

Wasnt there rumors last year that the stinger was gonna get axed, only for KIA to release a minor refresh for the 2022MY?

I say it ain't over until the fat KIA lady sings.

Only thing this may affect is mod development for the new 2.5 turbo 4, unless this engine makes it into the new g70.

I'll definitely pour some of my best liquor when the Stinger does actually end, whenever that'll be.

People were saying it was going to be axed back in 2019.

I mean sure, it could be they are just changing that single factory around, and we know the G70 is still being made so I will hold out hope. But that Korean car blog seemed pretty definitive. But yes, it was only a single source

This is a case where the silence is lending credit to the rumor.

Any time a product is cancelled, it raises questions on support, both from the manufacturer and aftermarket. These concerns aren't going to help Stinger sales. If the rumor was false, I would expect Kia to get out in front of it to reduce any damage of confidence to potential buyers. I know the news caused me to pause for a hot second on the idea of buying a Stinger. After evaluation, I decided to continue with my plans, but everyone in my shoes might not make the same decision.

I'm not saying the silence is proof positive, but it doesn't help.

I have faith for future support, Kia has been amazing with the exploding engines (Life time for many cases even). Plus the fact the G70 is still being made and it shares many parts. Plus it's a flagship

I'm just really bummed with the fact I just may never own one. I'm at one of the smallest Kia dealerships in all of North America heh.

But I also have a decision, long time V-Tec fan, this will be the last gen of Type-R that's gasoline only, but doesn't have intake V-TEC. Or do I go for a base model Civic that actually DOES have old school v-tech that kicks in, or do I go Stinger. But I don't have the money heh

For the record, the K900 has been axed from Kia's North America dealerships. It's still sold in South Korea because over there it does well.

Kia also got rid of the Cadenza in the United States, due to it's poor sales.

Of Kia's current line-up take a guess which model sells the least (it's the Stinger).

Didn't Kia sell the Cadenza and K900 for years in the US? Longer than the Stinger, correct?

I do think it's strange they would cancel the Stinger so soon after a refresh.

I wouldn't worry about part availability for a loooooooooooonnnngggg time. There are plenty of prior generation cars on the road that no longer share the same parts as the current generation. The parts are still available for those cars, so I expect the parts to be available for the Stinger.
