Hello! I've been lurking and using all the resources available here to get the best deal I can, especially with all the market weirdness going on. I've got a quote from a dealer, and was wondering what you experts thought. It's a bit above 10% off, so I'm thinking it's a good deal.

Also, I've been working with this dealership on the assumption that I'll be buying, but if I want to lease instead to take advantage of those rebates, how do I switch over to the numbers? Do I ask to keep the $5700 discount in the final lease paperwork?

Thanks in advance!

You should tell him you want to lease - there may be some “trunk cash” available for retail purchases (to get to $5700 discount) which is not available for leases (ask me how I know ).

@orange_is_the_way Yes, the dealer is going to make you start back negotiating from MSRP again. There is some purchase rebates in the $5700 discount. Negotiate hard and stick to your guns.

Ten percent plus as a dealer discount is good. Welcome to the forum and good luck. (I'm no expert. Hah.)

Just spoke with the dealership again. They're going to honor the discount on the lease, so that plus the lease cash from Kia brings the discount to about $16k. The manager also told me about the lease buyout trick unprompted, which was amazing. Much more honest and up front than I expected. I'm pulling the trigger this weekend, looking forward to joining the club!

Good deal!!!

I just negotiated almost the exact same deal on a '20 GT2. Ceramic Silver/Red Interior. 11% off before the $10,200 lease cash incentive. With the 0% sales tax in MT, I'm loving this deal.

What dealership?

What dealership?

I25 Kia in Longmont, CO. Had a very similar offer from Dennis Dillon in Boise, ID. Nobody in MT had a Stinger, so I had to search a good distance away, unfortunately.

That's a great deal! Nice work! Anything over 10% off of MSRP for a 2020 is fantastic!

This is exactly what builds trust between a buyer and a dealership. Kudos to the dealership for pointing this out. Makes complete sense that you would buy from a dealership that is honest and transparent right from the start. A lesson for dishonest salespeople and dealerships! People just want honesty and transparency. If you give them that, they'll buy from you. Very simple.

When I was shopping for my Stinger back in October of 2019, I explained to one dealer that I did not care about the monthly payment amount, since I was justing going to immediately buy out the lease. The dealer said I was trying to "game the system." LOL!
