• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Looking for a good Kia dealership for service in the Greater Toronto Area

By my count, that is 2 points for Brampton Kia, (2-1=) 1 point for Lockwood Kia, -1 point for anything in Mississauga, and an average of 0 for Georgetown Kia (although the same person, MackyGio, had one positive and one negative thing to say about them).

I am going to need my first service soon, and so far Brampton Kia is in the lead.

Any other GTA dealer experiences?

I like Lockwood Kia. It’s a nicer dealer inside, and the staff is great. You always see the same ppl, which is good (no staff turnover....means they’re happy and business is well run). Ask for Taylor or Matthew

I will give my vote to Lockwood as well

You voted already... but I will allow it lol. I know what you mean about turnover, so a lack of it means something.

Heard good things about Bessada Kia East of the City, but I have never been, so can't really cast a vote there

Much to east for me to use for regular service, but folks on the east side of town should check it out.

I do like Lockwood Kia. By far the best service I got there. This is strictly over their service department and not regarding sales. (for sales Georgetown is pretty good, I didnt buy a car from there but the people seemed nice while I was shopping)

Giving a quick run down, there were problems with my driver side brembo brakes at 25,000 KM. All dealers were given the same issue that my car was having and was asked what the solution would be. They all had nearly the same answer but their pricing and approach varied drastically. Chronologically here is how everything went:
- Mississauga Dixie 401 quoted 800$ to replace brake parts and service, and was told neither the pads or rotors would be covered under warranty
- Called Brampton Kia gave same solution with a price 900$ and was told it will not be covered under warranty either
- Erin Mills Mississauga quoted me $1500 for the same job as Dixie 401, and when I challenged their pricing, the so called "manager" told me to practically f**k off and take my business to other dealers.
- Called Lockwood Kia and was told it would cost 670$ however they said a car with only 25,000 km shouldn't have any brake issues considering it has never seen track days. They suggested to come by to the shop, have a service done as more than likely the rotors would be covered and subsequently even lower cost to replace pads if required.

At Lockwood, it turned out it was not a serious issue, there was a metal piece that was lodged in the brake pad and was scratching the rotors. The damage was minimal, and I had more than sufficient brakes left. Final cost = $0 for brakes and $60 for premium oil change

Lockwood Kia sounds very honest. I will definitely get my first service here in a month's time or so.

I will review my experience afterwards. Promise!

Lockwood Kia

We are all having our own experiences at various dealerships, and Lockwood where I bought my car in December 2017, did not hit the sweet spot for me. Maybe they were then not used to Stingers and their clientele, but their service and follow up was underwhelming.
On the other hand, when I took my car to Mississauga Dixie 401 @19,000 + km for the brake shudder issue last summer , they took the car for a drive around the block and told me that four new disk are in order. They would have installed new KIA pads - all @ no charge but I brought my own Hawks for the front.
So, everybody's mileage differs, it all depends on when you arrive and who you meet at the dealership. And both dealerships had staff turnover in the past 2 1/2 years.
You pays your money and takes your chances... but Mississauga Kia gets a shout out from me for sure.

All routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotation, brake service and tire changeover are in the hands of my local friendly technician, which also gives me the opportunity to have a quick look under the car whenever it's on the hoist. Try that in a big dealership.

As long as you have a Fumoto valve installed, anybody can change your oil (as long as they only touch the valve to OPEN it). For routine service, I would try the place nearest me first.

I called Lockwood to tell them my intention to use them to change my spark plugs (I will put in the Denso plugs talked about in this forum, gapped to 0.024").

I talked to Matthew, who was great at handling my concerns.

They told me that they never changed plugs on a Stinger before! I'm not too shocked, since the stock plugs don't need to come out until a lot of kms.

Also, I'm appreciative of the honesty. Some folks may balk at this fact, but I figured if they were comfortable telling me I'm their first, they certainly don't want to screw up what is basically an easy job (if a little more complicated than most plug swaps). Especially after my talk with them (where I pretty much told them I will be on top of everything) I believe they will do the best job they can.

I also ordered a block heater that I will be getting them to install as well. I organized everything with Matthew, who ordered me the block heater and told me to call them once the plugs are in my possession. I am in no hurry, so I figure this should all be done before the month is over.

I will report back how this all goes, once it is done.
