We've had quite a few people with that problem on this forum. Just pray, that kia mechanic knows what he's doing taking the engine out.

I had that same leak. The source was the oil gallery plug seal at the back of the engine.

I had a leak in the same place, but it was transmission fluid. Trans was replaced. Gonna be an engine-out job. I see this too often on stingers.

What is an oil gallery plug seal? And where is it located? Did they have to drop the engine?

Oli gallery plug is on the back of the engine. Accessible after the transmission is split from the engine.

Got under my stinger to put a new exhaust on and found these two bolts like this on the trans they won't tighten back in place without felling like ther going to snap off inside has any 1 see this happen the car is a 21 with 23k miles on it

You’re missing a cross brace there. (Ignore the blue ones.)

Does it make a difference that mine is awd
Good point. I don’t know unfortunately. Mine is rwd. I don’t know if that photo is rwd or AWD.

It is not for cross brace aka transmission mount, but exhaust hangers for secondary downpipe. You want to install it back. Previous owner probably installed rwd downpipes, and couldn't reinstall that hanger. IMG_5488_1575x2100.webp
