Limited top speed, why do you care?

There's also Mile/Airport racing where this would be needed.

Also, your forgetting the real reason, People hate being restricted. You don't have to understand just let them have what they want.

Here in Wyoming there are plenty of places to test top speeds, I’m new to these forums but our 22 scorpion on 19 all seasons breaks 140 for sure

I want no restriction. If i wanna do 180 on the salt flats it would be fun

I've had my Stinger out to Sears Point and Laguna Seca in the past year. Mind you, I'm a beginner at track stuff. I have a few mods (sways, Mando ECS, better pads/lines/fluid, jb4) and AWD (which helps with traction). With all that, I don't think I've gotten past 120 at all. Ok, on the long straight at Laguna, probably came close and chickened out a bit :) But still - wore through half my GLoc R12 pads (from 50% to 2%) in 5 sessions. The Stinger is HEAVY. And NOT a dedicated track car. It's probably similar to a 4-cyl Mustang/Camaro with track pack. I don't care - I'm just having fun and need a family car for most days.

If you're getting 140+ on a straight on a track, you're going to burn through pads/rotors trying to stop it, and probably overheat something. C&Ds lightning lap got up to ~133 mph AFAICT. And I would imagine their driver is better than most here.

Edit: just to clarify - first 50% of pads were 5 DAYS (20 or 25 sessions, forget which) at Sears Point (Sonoma). Laguna definitely gets faster AND wears through pads faster.
While this is not the worst thing to go by, you have to remember that Car and Drivers Stinger was probably stock. ECU tuned stingers will reach speed significantly faster than the stock ones will. Also, both the tracks you went to are not really designed for higher speeds in mind. There are tracks, such as Daytona international Speedway for example, that utilize half the oval for part of its road coarse, in which a tuned stinger could more than likely reach about 140-150 if the driver was confident enough. It wont happen at some speedways, especially out west for sure, but considering I have done it coming off of a sweeping corning on a highway in Mexico, it is 100% possible on some tracks.

Also, like @RogueIV said, some people just don't like to be limited.

If your stinger is not tuned yet, im sure one of the tuners would raise your limiter to higher than that. They may make you sign a wavier first though, who knows.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Not being able to go 167 in my Stinger is as disappointing as not having Elton John perform in my living room, it would be nice but I can live without it.
I wouldn't be too disappointed if David Cassidy showed up instead of Elton John, cause with all the hidden technology we have (even back then), you just might be in for a Royal shocking performance, of a lifetime, even though David is reportedly dead. :(
