Are the lighter wheels more prone to damage from potholes though?

No. Weight of the wheel and strength of it are not always connected.

Volk CE28 are one of the lightest style of wheels out there, but you gotta pay to play and finding them can be a chore as well.

Still kicking myself for selling the set i had for my 240sx years ago.

Thanks dj - is that for both front and back on a 2018 gt2?

But for strength looking for forged or alloy NOT cast? I am guessing stock is cast. I can pick up a set of OEM for $250 so I was thinking of getting those and then I would have back-ups. I WANT light but NEED strong! lol.

Anyone know the bolt pattern off the top of thier head for 2018?

ok, I have better questions this round. My new tires were put on the bent stock rims and I would like to continue using those tires. That being said, I do not know the relation between size and clearance regarding the rims, tires, wheel well, brakes, rotors, etc.

2018 AWD GT2.
225/40R19
255/35R19
1. How does tire size relate to the wheel size and do I have to stagger the wheel size? Basically could I put 8.5 on both front and rear with the tires I have and stock set-up? Could I go wider than 8.0/8.5 on both?

2. On Ebay I am seeing listings include the offset. Am I correct in this having something to do with wheel clearance reletive to rotors and calipers?

3. Is there variation or a range in offset or do I have to have the same offset as stock 34/46.5? Does the offset need to be staggered or could I simply buy 4 of the same exact rims?

4. Do I need to consider hub bore size and if I do does it need to be what ever stock is or a range? Why is Hub Bore also listed as "CB"?

5. What would be considered a light wheel?

6. Are Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+ good tires in your world?

7. Are there other specifications I need to look at or does anything come to mind as advice?

THANKS guys.

I just realized I hijacked this thread. Hopefully you guys don't mind. I am wondering if I should start my own thread.

Man i always wanted lite wheels but my aftermarket set is probably 160 pounds total with tires...
Just a guess as they do not seem more than 50 each with tires (compared to knowledge of moving paper boxes)
So lets say 40 each lol

I just bought some Konig Heliograms that are 20.5 and 21lbs for the fronts and rear, thats a lot of weight shed compared to the 33 and 34lbs of the stock wheels.

If you've rolling 40 lbs a corner, that is mighty impressive! Tires in the typical Stinger sizes are at least 25-26lbs, so that would mean you got rims that are 14-15lbs.

My Enkei TFR 18x8.5 weighs in at right around 20lbs. This track tire is about 26lbs new. The balance is wheel weights. To get much lighter, I'd have to spend some beaucoup bucks.

For my next set of tires i am planning for dws06 continental. Tirerack lists them as 22lbs tire for 245/40-18 size. That will make it around 42lbs per corner.
