Lease numbers not making sense...

IMHO the best deal is the one you are happy with. My wife and I were early adopters of a hotly anticipated new car. Based on the relative rarity of our specific trim/color, we were still happy to pay MSRP for the opportunity to drive away in a gorgeous new Stinger. So while some may blanche at the idea of paying MSRP and holding out, I get to drive my sexy beast now. :)

49K and change. The dealer showed me the printout. Can't remember the actual figure. It was something like 2500-3000 off MSRP.

As soon as I walked in, he gave me 1500 off MSRP without even asking. I told him i've been offered, Invoice, and he said he'd match and printed the invoice screen for me. Told me those are his hard numbers and he can't go below invoice.

Sir, you can't possibly criticize me or my dealer after believing the invoice of a $49,200 (MSRP on GT2 RWD) car has an invoice price of $49,000 and change. If anything is not realistic, it's that.

I got this quote from Julio Lopez at Jim Marsh Kia in Las Vegas...

GT2 RWD
$50,100 MSRP
$45,574, sales price (9% off)
12,000 miles/yr
36 month lease
$0 down
.00181 money factor
$6,100 lease cash
52% residual
$562-Month after taxes/fees
$1,600 drive-off[/QUOTE
@Ryan - This looks like a VERY good deal. That said, $45,574 - $6,100 Lease Cash = $39,474 Adj. Capital Cost, yes?

If so, this looks like a GREAT deal! I'm from OR but have my bro living out of K-Falls. I would gladly get down there via a nice train ride, my bro would take me down south into NV and have a sweet drive back in the new Stinger! I might even let my bro drive if for 2 or 3 minutes! ; )

QUESTION: What is the Drive-Off figure? I assume that is license and title fee, along with their Document Fee, yes? Do you know the dealers Document fee? If it's $200 or less I can live with that, but I've seen dealerships absolutely try to gouge people in that area.

Thanks!

In OR I only have a .5% sales tax. I say "Only" but until my "friends" on the left instituted yet more taxes on we Oregonians, it was ZERO. Oh, and more DMV fees, and $0.11 more in gas tax. You know, more Government, less me. But I digress. I'll live with the .5% on the Adj. Capitalized Cost.

Just wondering if NV has any sales tax on a car and if so, what's the number? 4%, 6% or?...

Thanks Ryan!

Guys, just to to AutoByTel, or look at this and another Kia forum, and the complete invoice list is available. If Ryan is pulling off 9% BEFORE Lease Cash, that is FANTASTIC!

If this dealer can do the same % for me on at GT AWD w/Drive Wise (I know - they don't exist on this planet for some reason!), I would JUMP at that! H U G E DEAL. Especially to buyout immediately, that is an awesome deal.

Sorry, I was stating numbers for GT2 AWD. Dealer showed me the invoice numbers and that what it showed. Also, I have seen the invoice numbers you listed above. Im a little confused about the MSRP for GT2 AWD as I get 52300 (not 51.4k). Maybe someone else can calrify.

You'll have to look at the maroney sheet. They usually add a cargo net or trunk mat to the msrp.

Yes, your numbers look correct.

Drive off costs are... 1st month payment, Registration and doc fees, Tax on cap cost reduction and fees.

I personally believe non of us should be paying over invoice for a new car. Unless you have to be an early adopter, which I completely understand. A few member here have recently bought their GT2's for UNDER invoice, which shows that a sale @ invoice in easily obtainable.

Looks like to me the higher number is including the 900 destination and the lower one isn't.

Right now $630-$650m is invoice price on a RWD GT2 for 36m/30k with only first payment & DMV fees at signing. That’s a great deal and think it may be a long time before anyone sees much better than that. The only way I was able to get $600m tax-in was keeping it for 48m which may not even be long enough! Lol:rofl::D

You're saying that a 3yr/36k lease on a RWD GT2 @ invoice is $630-$650m?

Let's run the 3yr/36k lease numbers on an Stinger GT2 RWD w/$0-down.

2018 Kia Stinger GT2 RWD - Invoice $46,150.00

GT2 RWD
$50,100 MSRP
$46150, sales price (8% off)
12,000 miles/yr
36 month lease
$0 down
.00221 money factor (Top Teir Credit) APR: 4.34% w/.0004 reserve added
$6,100 lease cash
52% residual
$600-Month after taxes/fees
$1,300 drive-off

Lease Calculator

With that said, I can understand $630 - $650/mo for a 3yr/36k lease on a GT2 RWD @ invoice w/shitty credit.
Let's run those numbers...

GT2 RWD
$50,100 MSRP
$46150, sales price (8% off)
12,000 miles/yr
36 month lease
$0 down
.00301 money factor (bottom tier 7 credit) APR: 7.22%
$6,100 lease cash
52% residual
$658-Month after taxes/fees
$1,400 drive-off

Last but not least, let's run the 4yr(48m)/48k lease numbers on an Stinger GT2 RWD w/$0-down and top tier credit & bottom tier credit.

GT2 RWD
$50,100 MSRP
$46150, sales price (8% off)
12,000 miles/yr
48 month lease
$0 down
.00264 money factor (top teir credit) APR: 6.34% w/.0004 reserve added
$5,200 lease cash
48% residual
$583-Month after taxes/fees
$1,200 drive-off

GT2 RWD
$50,100 MSRP
$46150, sales price (8% off)
12,000 miles/yr
48 month lease
$0 down
.00354 money factor (bottom tier 7 credit) APR: 8.50%
$5,200 lease cash
48% residual
$647-Month after taxes/fees
$1,300 drive-off

All your numbers are off on the 48mo lease calculations.

- Residual is 48% on GT2 RWD
- Tier 1 MF is .00224
- Tier 7 MF is .00354
- Lease cash is $5200

Dont forget the $900 destination charge...

Also need to take into account "dealer add ons" I cant find any in AZ that dont have $1500-$5000 as dealer add ons.

Also, i have 820 credit and CANNOT get anywhere near the "quoted" MF from any of my local dealers. ALL of them have insisted on applying the .0004 reserve.

Dcloss, thank you for the numbers. I could not find these numbers last night. I updated my reply with your numbers. Thank you again.

I went ahead a modified my reply with a .0004 reserve added to the top tier credit estimates.

I've bought two new Kia's and each one of them was loaded with $500-$1000 dealer add-ons. I didn't pay a penny for either. I just told them, I'd rather not have those option installed that I didn't want. So I'll go ahead and order a new one without those options installed and wait for the vehicle to be built. They went ahead and sold me the cars they had in-stock at invoice.

Ha ha...nice. I tried that and no budge. First dealer i went to insisted on charging $800 for tint when i was ready to buy. The Stinger had literally just been taken off the delivery truck and literally had nothing installed. Would have had to come back for the tint install. I said i want to but it as it sits right now...no deal. So they lost a $50K sale over $800 worth (well $250 realistically) of tint.

It's amazing how many dealers will cut off their nose to spite their face SMH

NOTE: You do NOT need to pay the first month's lease fee at the dealer. KMF can bill you once it's in play in their system.

That's an interesting thought and may be better for the buyout. Then there is no other factor in play except the Adjusted Cap Cost and the "earned" portion of the rent.
