Im able to get the front display off the car but the gloss trim piece around the screen doesnt want to come off that easy. Has anyone done this yet? Half of it sounds like clips but it doesnt want to come the rest of the way. Any help would be great.

I don't. But may I ask why you are removing the LCD? Replacement with the one that has a much thinner bezel?

I do like that other screen but for now, I wanted to vinyl wrap that gloss black piece because i've been wrapping the other interior trim pieces CF. I might have to just leave it gloss black because I don't want to pay 700 for a new screen if i mess it up. If someone had a damaged or used one they want to sell, I would be up for that so i can figure out how to take it apart.

The screen just slides into the base. Not sure which screen you have but I changed mine out for the premium/ gt1/gt2 screen. So 7"-8" and added nav.

nice, did you have to swap only the screen or also other components? I heard you also need to change the media unit below it otherwise touchscreen wont work

8" screen, base for the 8' screen, nav head unit.

Got my stuff used off eBay a few years back. Cost me maybe $500 total. Not sure what the stuff is going for these days. There's definitely a few threads on here about the swap.
