Lap3 protuner review

Glad to hear you enjoy the new tuner!

Since the JB4 was brought up just to throw it out there, customers reported our v6 firmware dramatically improved the JB4's responsiveness and smoothness on all maps, and the new v7 firmware pushes the bar even further. So while you may prefer how it drives compared to v4 or v5 firmware, in conjunction with your new parts, doesn't mean you'll feel the same way about v6, v7, or v8 firmware. :)

Also I've not heard of anyone having shifting issues or anything like that but for future reference for anyone reading if any issues ever come up first step is to contact our tech support or throw up a post with details and a log so we can help you identify and resolve the issue.
I agree, i believe v5 firmware was the last i used, so im sure i may have improved, of course i can only give my impression based on what was available when i had it.

Personally idk how much of a difference downpipes do, i can only give my impression with what i have now and what i had then. Idk if anyone has downpipes paired w the jb4 though.
I don't see many downpipes (primary) being used with JB4 honestly... but they're good for at least ~30 whp and would significantly decrease turbo lag / spool time.

This is do to the cel, maybe an update to address the issue in the future will help a lot.

Greetings to all ... well here I want to leave a video of the recent update of my stinger. Very happy with the result, there was a total change, from intakes, bov, catch can, Mounth tech, hfc pipe, intercooler, meth kit injection and best of all LAP3 PROTUNER !!! About the LAP3 PROTUNER is a success, at the beginning of hearing about this tune for my car. I was somewhat incredulous, but with patience and accurate information and David's help from LAP3 Protuner I made my decision. And it is the best decision you make, the car is another car completely if different. An impressive acceleration, aggressive, super fast, safe, without pending codes and without any type of problems like the ones with the JB4 of burger tuner. The car feels like a beast in difference to JB4, because with JB4 it had a lot of mixing problems, limp mode, pending code almost daily, and the maps did not give the result that I expected at 100% ... they were good numbers in the dyno, but did not feel like the tune of LAP3 Protuner. A personal classification between LAP3 Protuner and JB4, is from 100 to 40 !!! And the most that I liked about LAP3 Protuner is the trust and the customer service that David provides .... In short, LAP3 Protuner is the best investment I've made !!! Do not miss out and stay tuned for Turbo upgrade soon with ECU remapping with the fastest stinger in the world .., especially David's LAP3 Protuner and mine ... stay tuned Boys.

Hi Angel,

Glad you're happy with how the car is running. The JB4 v5 firmware was not ideal for downpipes, JB4 v6 got better, and JB4 v7 is in another league all together as evidenced by the 11.91@120mph slip. With lots of mods like you run the most important thing is that you're able to communicate and work with your tuner when needed, and we certainly couldn't get on the same page. Looking forward to seeing how you run with larger turbos. FWIW Lap3-Pro doesn't seem to support them, they wrote they removed it in favor of a generic GReady boost controller in their recent turbo upgrade build.

And an ecu tune.

I LOVE my Lap3 Pro Tuner. My previous car was an E40 tuned Audi S4 that made 400+ wheel horse power and dare I say the protuner is smoother with lower delivery and instant torque just like my supercharged S4.

Install took only an hour; the pro tuner app is insanely easy to use and if need be, uninstalling will be simple.

I’m running the 93 octane map as I have 93 octane available where I live and the tune blows most street cars out of the water.

Never had any issues, and car is phenomenal.

Never had the JB4, only the first Lap 3. Just installed the Lap 3 Pro Tune last week and I do love it with only two issues. You mentioned the app, which needs a serious update (metric to U.S. measurements, and basic functionality) and my auto stop/start does not work any more. Not complaining at all about the stop/start feature not working, because I hate it, but the dash light flashes continually.

Anyway, the performance is smooth and strong. Have yet to dyno the car, or track it, but may do so soon. The install was quite easy and straight forward, except for the crank sensor connection, which was a bitch. I am running K&N intakes, catback JunBL no downpipes, HKS m45iL plugs, and duel catch cans with check valve.

So your auto hold does not work ?? Was this a cause of the installment ? What did you have to do install the cranck sensor ? Did you have to take the DP off? And how did it take to install?

Initially the auto start/stop did not work for me either, seems to be working fine now, i usually disable it anyways

Thats alot of mods. Share some 0-60 or 1/4 mile times!

The auto hold is fine. It’s the engine start/stop feature which now does not work. It began after the Lap 3 Pro Tune install and I thought it may be due to low battery voltage, but the battery is now fully charged.

How long have you had the lap 3 pro tuner ? Considering it.

Definitely do it. It's hands down the smoothest, and most reliable power delivery. Been tuned by lap3 since late 2018. Now I'm on their ecu tune for the last year and it's amazing. Worth every penny.
