LAP3-PROSS ECU Tune in development

I honestly dont think the "jolting" you feel during shifts is soo much from the car but the piggyback you are using. I have a JB4 and you can feel it pretty damn hard sometimes. When I removed the JB4 and got the ECU update for the ecu is was really smooth. Once the JB4 went back on the jolting began again. I think @Angel felt the same thing after a certain firmware update.
Agree that jolting is 100 percent the JB4. I can’t speak for other piggybacks since this is the one I have. I can’t speak about the ecu tunes either but I beleive @Tonkabob does not get that jolting but he has an ecu tune. I have personally tested their numerous times. I beleive I have posted about this complain on other threads as well. When I have the JB4 off the car shifts smooth, when JB4 is on the car on map 2 I really feel the jerking in between shifts. It more noticible when taking off from a dig between 1-2 and 2-3.
 
I realize all of that. Go drive a Porsche with a pdk or the gulia quadrifoglio and you’ll see what I’m wanting in a transmission. I don’t think it’s too much to ask, or maybe it is out of a Kia. (Standing by for the price comparisons in future comments by members)

I agree the trans is lacking, but I dont think the car stock has those trans jolting issues you are referring to. I remember it being pretty smooth after the ECU update. It was like the JB4 just nullified the update.

Yea it is definitely jb4 related. This is the kind of stuff I don’t want to deal with
 
This is probably for a different topic, but I wonder with those heavily moded and with a ton of $$$$ in the car if they don't regret not getting something else and sending less money on mods. Im almost at the point that I do. I have about 12-15K in this car, for that I would have likely got a M3.... The only thing the car still has that makes me feel ok is the nice hatchback lol.

My wife hates it and freaks out every time it happens. She tells me that I am going to break the car lol.

I already have one lol I don’t think I can deal with 2 of them. I wouldn’t mind daily driving a GT2 to work or keep it as shell to do a motor swap lol. I would if I won the lotto bro.

Interesting about the availability of the same tune (eventually) on the G70. Seems like that's where the hard core drag racers here will gravitate since that would save them a few hundred pounds, no?

Will watch the developments with interest.

Hard core drag racers would have a 3100lb C5 Z06 with a stroked/FI engine and some big ole slicks.

People here love going fast as much as they love their Stinger.

@LAP3 Tuning sorry if you already said, but do you have an estimated time for when the encryption will be complete?

Both Lap3 and BTR are hoping for this spring (yes i know it is spring). Its hard for them to give ETAs since they are waiting on something that comes from outside of there capabilities with the Encryption. I think both have been ready since last year and both are willing to sit without selling anything until they are happy and feel secure.

I have the gt2 awd and have never seen harsh shifts stock or with ecu tune. I actually am impressed with this transmission and think its part of the reason we are faster than we should be.
I have a single clutch in my GLA 45 AMG and like my modified Stinger more in every way at a little less $ moded.
Ok i do like the AMG LC better with its 4 wheel burnouts.

What year gla 45 amg do you have? They have one down the road 2018 for like 58k it is more fun to drive than the stinger imo

We are still talking about a bench flash tune on a spare ECU correct or have we moved onto the ECU reflash module?

If you look at their website, every ECU tune is around $850, the turbo kit upgrade is $3,000 across the board, regardless of platform. Add every possible option to the kit and it’s still under $5k... (which doesn’t seem unreasonable to me)

why would the stinger be any different?

I saw on FB its around 13K it included alot of parts though.

Where on FB? I’ve been following it there and haven’t seen it there at all but it’s entierly possible I missed it. I try to avoid FB a bit when I can.

The kits sold before by Lap3 for example for their veloster comes with
  • XCargot XT26 Turbo
  • Turbo Housing
  • Exhaust Manifold
  • Turboback Downpipe
Add a spare ECU tune and wastegate option and it’s $4500 before shipping

An intake (price estimated from competitor options) $630 (I picked SSRs for example

A FMIC ((using UP’s)) $950

A meth kit (( using AEMs universal kit)) $520


Comes out to $6600 before shipping.

You’ll probably need to add some cash for a TCU tune and I’m not sure what that would cost, but it seems like 13k is exaggerated estimate. 6.6k I think I would do, but 13k? Not a chance (((I keep telling myself that at least haha)))
