Kia Stinger vs The World

I would have just let you go first.;)
when I get mine broken in we should give it a go and see what happens , I haven't hammered it once yet

Man I can't stand that dude's channel.

Does the Stinger trap higher than the IS500? The Lexus didn't seem to be closing the gap at all.

According to Motortrend the Stinger traps @107 vs 112 for the IS500. Maybe the camera angles just didn't show the gap closing.

did 8 Runs last night at my local drag strip, 6 where wins.
every one of the wins was by at least half a second or more

Killed a c43 AMG (which was probably stock)
I launched too hard and trigger the torque safety's, so I jumped about 5 feet then lost power and had to get back on the gas, ended up doing a 12.4 and winning even though the C43 launched without issue, I reeled him in by the 1/8th and was at least 2 car lengths ahead at the line. he did a low 13

Early 2000s mustang on a tire, not sure what mods under the hood but I could hear it over my car. I think it just had a bad launch cuz it found a comfortable spot in my passenger side mirror and stayed there the whole run.

Foxbody Mustang with a 2JZ swap in it, I think he was doing 1/8th mile runs cuz while I beat him down and pulled away at the end, he was running low 12s and very clearly letting off half way down the track on some of his other runs I watched.

Current 5.0, probably stock cuz I left him at the light he never showed up in my mirror.

a Little miata that did an 18 second run.... I honestly feel bad about this one. He blew something up later in the night as well.

a C4 corvette that did a mid 14, looked and sounded stock.

am forgetting what the last win was against but it was fairly close, my last run was an 11.95 and he hung almost beside me the entire way down. probably the closest race of the night.

Defeats are in the correct thread.

We have Friday night street drags here..1/8 th mile drags.
My wife brought the Stinger.
I brought the TrackHawk.
She raced twice and won both.
I won all 8 of mine.
The R32(?) VW golf she beat came up to her after and said “ wow, that thing is fast”.

Went to My local Drag Strip on friday again, it was hosting a group of truck bros so it was packed, because NH is the south of the north. (when I say that, I mean like "THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN" kind of south) But because it was so busy, I was only able to get 4 or 5 runs in. The whole night the track was cold, so traction was pretty hard to get. My first two runs I lost by default because I was learning how to use the brake snip launch as a built a harness myself the night before, and ended up spinning all 4 wheels for the first 40 feet or so. After that I ended up going up against a Gutted honda civic that was "race ready" according to the driver. Nice dude but he was fairly certain his Civic was going to walk the stinger. This video My buddy took shows not only was he very wrong, but I ran my best time yet of an 11.874

That Fast and Furious Civic exhaust note lol

Yep, the only part of my car you can hear is the woosh of the turbos right at the start line, after that, its all roided out lawnmower.

Also sounds like he bounced it off red line a bit between 2nd and 3rd. All I hear in my neighborhood are fart piped hondas, and STI's and they all sound the same. Well the hondas sound the same...and the STI's sound the same.

All the hondas there bounce off the redline fairly constantly. In the 4 or 5 times I've gone to NED to run my car, a honda like that has blow up 3 times. No subarus surprisingly, though none really showed up either cuz most of the subaru guys up here are all talk.

12.7 isn't bad tho for a pimped civic. It's about what I would expect a stock Stinger to run.

whyd you use the brake snip if you have a tcu tune?

because the tork TCU tune has the safety's still on, the brake snip does not.

I'm curious, how are you only running an 11.8 with your mods? I'm asking because we both have similar performance mods and I run 11.8 with JB4 and E30, where as you have an ECU tune and Meth.

High altitude/crazy DA/off night?

I'm in Kansas, 800-1000ft. with 1700-2300 DA just for reference.

Just wondering.

IM chalking it up to My current Tork TCU tune meant for street launching and not track launching as while it can let me build boost, it still has the factory safety's on, so if I build more than 3lbs, it just will flip the safety's and put the car in limp mode for a second and ruin the run. I just started using the brake snip launch which can def allow me to go faster, but I still have to get used to it. I just ordered a Lozic TCU tune last night and it should be here in a week or so, and I am hoping to get those times down to the mid 11s before the season is over here. I know I can do it, it just takes practice.

my 11.8 Run was also done with my 1.4Bar tune, not the 1.6 bar I am currently running. I am fairly confident that if I launched on the same low boost that I was doing on my 1.4, the run probably would have been an 11.6 or something like that. I will be going back to the track this week as long as the weather is good to keep the progress going.

(Also this is my DD so willingness to full send is still not 100% there haha)

Wow that's weird. I have the TCU stage 1 tune and I can just stand on it a spin all 4 wheels and take off if I wanted to, 3200ish rpm and almost 12lbs of boost, I don't ever really do that tho. I just launch at around 2200 rpm 5-6lbs of boost. By "street launching tune" did you do a custom tune instead of the off the shelf one? If not, sounds like maybe he forgot to turn some things off or on, but I guess it doesn't matter now that you've got a Lozic tune otw.

I hear ya about the DD thing, once i get closer to 11.5 I'll stop, not that I go out of my way to beat on it, but race cars break lol.

When I had just my JB4 I could do that as well no problem, at least I could on the road. I didn't get a custom tune, it was the off the shelf 99$ one, and I was one of the first people in the first batch to get it. Maybe its setup quite a bit differently now than it was? It could also be that my car is producing way more torque early on than it was on the JB4, just based off how the car launches.
