Kia Stinger Rear Hatch Noise Survey

So I've taken mine in to the dealer and they say that they have installed the kit.. While the rattle isn't as pronounced, there is still definitely a rattle. Am I the only one who has taken their vehicle in for a fix and not had it fixed?

Same problem for me! New part put in, but still battles. Returned - better for a while, but problem is back! Frustratingly!

My last visit to the dealer resulted in whell/tire/steering wheel damge ! All being replaced today , I was able to take the Service Mgr for a drive to point out EXACTLY where and what the sound of the hatch and Sunroof is ..................lets see !!

I have no noise, but i do have an issue where the hatch will not open occasionally. It attempts to open, but the latch does not fully disengage so the hatch stops. It then opens on the next try, every time. This seems to only happen after the car has sat overnight, and on the first opening attempt.

This happens on my Sorento , they are replacing the latch assembly .................press them to do the same for you, probably the same mechanism !

Took in 3 times still have hatch click. They have done all fixes but every time it’s quite for weeks or months and it comes back.where trying new over slam bumpers with set screw drilled in it. The rubber stopper keeps moving out of place. Usually screwing itself in. If those things aren’t precise you get hatch noise back again

i have the same problem and is being a year since I had my stinger. I'm really really disappointed, in my opinion these is more deep than a simple screw.

Well, crap. Had this fixed, twice, back in February and it was all good. Lately, I have noticed the occasional metal on metal click and then yesterday I was back to the full blown rattle. Going to check with the dealership. Not sure if the screws have backed out or the rubber bumper has "smooshed" over time but this is irritating.

Still LOVING my Stinger GT though. I can deal with a little rattle but honestly should I have to?

I had mine to the dealer twice for this issue. The last time was at 10k km service. It was still there after the last adjustment but disappeared after about another 2k km. I’ve had no rattle since, and I’m approaching 20k km.

My dealership worked on mine last Friday and, for the most part, it sounds like the rattle is gone unless I hit a big pothole or the like. Not clear if that rattle is something else, but for now it seems like their work was successful.

Unfortunately I can now hear all the other ticking, squeaking, and rattling sounds of the driver and passenger doors, HVAC blower, and possibly sunroof.

Before the repair, when the hatch would close, it would get very close to closed and then it looked like it would get pulled down tighter with a "grrr--grrr" sound of an actuator. Now, it just goes down to the tighter closed position without delay, no actuator sound. Which is normal/correct?

I just got finished doing the trunk, aluminium wrap, Idid everythng in this video, washer spacer(s) and sound proofing !! For under 20 bucks it is by far the cheapest and most satisfying albeit, behind the scenes, mod you can do yourself! Here's the vid.
6:00 mark for the soundproofing, can be had at any home depot plumbing section.

Same here. Less than a tank of gas after the SA/TSB was applied before it was back. Add that to my doors ticking, and I’m really annoyed.

I had my rear power hatch assembly replaced today after the SA/TSB didnt fix the problem , my initial sense is its fixed the problem BUT I've said this before , I'll keep everyone posted .......................

get the washers from a hardware store and do it yourself , ( after the dealer does the fix , which wont fix it ! )

I hire a lawyer and I got 4000 dollars compensation n they going to send and ingenier from Kia motors just to check on my car. I hope he can fix my car because that noice is getting worse and worse
