edit by Admin: Video removed as it was no longer working... But let's use this discussion to talk about rear world fuel consumption for the Kia Stinger...

Enjoy...

Also, check out a little fire from Brembo after some aggressive driving.

Sorry...didn't mean to double post. How can I delete this?

On a mix of bumper to bumper highway traffic and city I am getting about 24.5-25 MPG in comfort. For comparison, in the same drive I would MAYBE get 25.5 in my 2013 Optima SX. In other words, I am getting great MPG. Kia is definitely understating it.

edit by admin: This is referring to a Stinger GT (V6)...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

2.0 or 3.3t?

That’s very reassuring!! Thanks for sharing!

I wasn’t concerned about MPG. Kia was sued about 5 years back for overstating MPG. They now understate consistently. I have a 2017 Sorento SX V6 that has the same posted MPG and I can easily pull 30 MPG on the highway with it.

Great point and it's really great to hear this. Yes, I would imagine they'd rather be safe than sorry and underestimate MPG - and it sounds like they have...

It also increases customer satisfaction.
True. And this has been a big issue for many brands lately. I know Lincoln owners were very unimpressed with the fuel efficiency of the MKZ Hybrid. Then you have Volkswagen. Kia is smart to underestimate...

I think the biggest reason all estimates are more accurate is the EPA changed the mandated test last year. It is now a lot harder to BS the numbers and at least so far has been found to be really accurate. Some article I read comparing the new US method to the European method found the average difference between estimates and real world numbers was under 3% in the US and as much as 17% off in Europe. (It's been a while since I read the article so my memory might be off on the exact numbers)

Well whatever it may be, it seems we're getting a big better gas mileage than we were expecting. This is just the beginning, though, so we'll need a lot more input - and hopefully we get it...

Yeah, I am really hoping someone like motortrend or consumer reports picks up a stinger as one of their "long term test" vehicles. Getting reviews from a reputable source where they have had the car and driven it for a year are so much more helpful than a review from someone who sat in it for an hour.

They'd better. The Stinger is "all the rave" right now. That would be a great long-term test car to have...
