I was looking at the Injen intakes for my Kia stinger gt 3.3 and I was wondering if y’all think buying the heat shield they offer is worth it too. And I’m pretty sure the hydroshield is really worth it to get, but wanted to see what y’all think on that too.

I really dont think either of those shields are necessary, the filters are placed pretty well to get fresh air... so unless you're planning to track the car and need it to be maximum efficiency right off the line after sitting and idling for extended time, I dont think the small benefit to IAT temps are especially uhh... critical in the daily driver scenario.

As for the hydroshield... the filters are not especially low to the ground or in the fenders or anything so I cant imagine you'd be risking sucking water unless you floated the car. If you've got water that high up in the engine bay, I think there's more to worry about at that point.

I've had mine on for about a year and havnt had any issues either way.

Okay for sure thank you.

I like the hydro shields because it makes cleaning the filters easier. Nothing gets wedged down in the pleats.

As for the heat shields, the air in the engine bay is hot. Don’t think they’re doing much of anything.

Heat shields I couldn’t care for. I do have Filter Wear intake cover.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
In my experience, the heat shields are not worth the extra money. The Injen Intakes are great on their own. If you are interested in ordering Injen Intakes you can check them out on our website HERE.
Reach out to me in a message if you would like a discount on your order or if you have any additional questions.

You could always pull the stock snorkel that goes through the radiator support bracket so that more fresh air gets in there.
