Kia Stinger Facelift, First Details

It will get a face lift in its 4th model year , aside from some features as mentioned above we will see some body "nip and tuck" as well , look for revised head and tail lights , new front and rear fascias and possibly a new grill . I'm betting mechanical changes ( engine , brakes , tranny and exhaust )will remain unchanged and updated for Gen 2 ..............

Improve the lousy fuel economy and those sales figures will rise. Also get rid of the side reflector on the rear end.

The rear light side reflector is one of the distinctly "Stinger" design cues. It isn't going anywhere until a radical redesign. Fuel consumption is very good for the HP and torque.

I think the Stinger should get a digital cluster for the FL.

This is the first time I've seen any date put on a refresh for the Stinger. Have you seen it mentioned in any other articles?

All these changes are exactly those which were applied to the 2020 MY in Korea (thus some of them are already in the current US models like the DBL). This article just took those changes and said these would be the facelift changes. The writer has absolutely zero source and just found an easy way to make an article out of thin air.
There is no FL announced yet, even internally (as far as I know).

you gotta have a side reflector, it's required by law, where would you rather have it?

Next Stinger will have a Plug-In Sport Hybrid version to go against Porsche, source=Me, cause I want that! LOL!!

I don't foresee much chance of a change in engine displacement. Pretty much all of Kia's competitors are right around the same HP number so unless a sportier spec were to come out, I don't see any competitive reason for Kia to increase the power numbers. If Kia wanted to boost the power numbers 15-20HP (or more), it could simply be tuned into the engine programming and then give the car a different trim/engine code and call it "special."

I doubt they will continue to produce the 3.3L and 3.5L at the same time. There is already talk of the Genesis G70 and potentially G80 picking up this new engine.

The 2.0L turbo is also slated to be replaced with a 2.5L turbo at some stage soon. Mid-life update is a perfect time to do this.

The new G80 is definitely getting the 3.5TT and the 2.5T (as the base engine offering).

The G80 was supposed to be the first model to get the 3.5TT (as well as thee 2.5T), but there have been increasing indicators that Genesis may move back the launch of the G80 in favor of the GV80.

Don't see why the 3.5TT and 2.5T won't make their way into the G70 and Stinger (and as stated, the refresh year is a prime time to make that change) as competitors (well, the Germans) have continually worked on to increase performance and efficiency.

But guess there's a chance that the new motors won't make their way into the G70 and Stinger until the next gen models, esp. if that higher performance variant of the Stinger (w/ the 3.3TT) makes it to market.

But w/ the increase in power w/ the new motors, there should also be a new transmission (long talked about 10 spd AT) that's more suited to handle the increase in power (and hopefully, more performance oriented in terms of gearing).

This article tells us nothing new.

Should be getting it for the FL (a bit surprised they haven't done so already for the KDM Stinger as the G70 already got it) as the Cadenza got it and the 10.25" widescreen for its FL, and the new Optima is supposed to be getting it as well.
