Kia Stinger Experience Tour

My driver also told me that when the Stingers first arrived for the Tour, all of them had less then 2 miles on the odometor. I think they had like 12 Stingers there. 6 were on the track, two out in the parking lot (backups I think), and the 4 displayed. I wonder what they will each fetch at auction.

Hmm. Wonder where these auctions are located? I’m going just to get my 23 yo daughter some experience with real driving, even though we won’t be together during the event. I can probably handle it but she may hit every cone. Lol.

Just wanted to revive this topic since someone posted about the Boston stop this weekend. If you missed the first post here's what's left on the tour:
Boston 3/31-4/1
Chicago 4/7-8
Houston 4/14-15
Phoenix 4/21-22
I'm sure there are bound to be cancellations so feel free to contact Kia and see if you can fill a slot. It's a ton of fun whipping someone else's Stinger around a track.

And learning how dang slow that $110,000 Panamera is!

I was at Gillette Stadium yesterday and went behind that Porsche. Or rather we waited for the Porsche. And waited. I've seen ride share bikes driven faster in Boston... :p

Overall the whole thing was a blast. I really wish I could have gotten a second chance on the course with the stinger. It's hard to know how far you can push a car the first time around. Or at least it was for me.

swag.webp I went to the Boston event yesterday. As it was Easter Sunday, not a very big turn out, and since I was literally the last person to drive the course before they started packing up for the next stop, they we're pretty chill with me, to the extent that they allowed me to compare the launch control on the Stinger vs. the Panamera. Let me tell you, the Stinger cannot even compare to the Panamera as per launch control. With the Stinger, I felt very little additional acceleration (G force) compared to flooring it in Sports Mode. But with the Panamera, my lord! - it was like a roll coaster drop. Quite a unique experience. So, with regard to acceleration, the Stinger may win in 0-60, but 0-50, the Panamera is crazy faster!

As for the sag, nice but weird in that nothing had the Stinger logo on it, great water bottle, explicable chalk pen, oddball sunglasses and that weird VR glasses. Oh yes, and Fuji Apple Carmels (???). The brochure included talks about the "Experience Tour" which I will look over and post anything informative.

Yeah, I agree on the Panamera being fasttt off the line with its launch control. But around the turns it was a pig.

And it's like Kia doesn't want to brand anything "Stinger"! Even in the car, it just says "Stinger" on the floor mats. They need to be a little more liberal with the usage of the name.

But I must add, it was a lot of fun . . . and I didn't even knock over a cone! Thank you Kia.

Chicago one this weekend. I reserved a time but forgot what time it was. Went back to look for a confirm email but never got one!

So I went to register again and it says I already have a pre existing reservation, funny thing was it didn't even show me what time I registered for, just gives me a concierge ID which I have no idea what to do with.

Check your spam email folder. That's where my confirmation was.

Me, too! I'm excited.

I wonder if they'll let me use my dash cam to record the driving event...
They will not. No recording of the actual racing.

From inside the car at least. I don't know if you bring a friend with a camcorder if they can record from the sidelines, but I'd guess yes.

I'm glad to know the answer to that. Kind of a bummer, but oh well.

I just got back from it and really enjoyed it. I drove the BMW 640i M Sport and the body rolled during the corners.

I wish I had more time to take pictures of other colors, as well as the competitor vehicles.

Overall, it was a great experience.

The Kia Specialist said that Kia Dealers are already installing the K&N filters and the Borla exhausts to improve performance. He also said that the warranty will be voided if I had a dealership install an ECU tune (maybe it was stupid to ask...). In addition, the special addition Alantic Blue model will come with Harmon Kardon speakers and NOT Lexicon speakers.

Just got back from the one in Phoenix. It was a lot of fun! The lap with the pro driver was amazing. Crazy to see what that car can actually do.

Drove the BMW 640i M and thought it was lame. Surprising how “meh” that car felt vs the Stinger. Overall a really cool experience and one I would definitely do again!

What, did we all drive the BMW? I was at the 2:30 session here in Phoenix and drove the 640i as well. Felt like a heavy boat compared to the Stinger. And yeah, I felt like I crawled compared to the pro driver even though he coached me all the way around.
