When you polished them does the fading go away?

Yeah, the graphine helps keep them bright; much easier to maintain. There’s an old thread discussing this issue. Lots of solutions have been used with success.

i covered the door portions of them with vent shades (which i wanted anyway), and the remaining rear pieces from the back window to the trunk i sprayed with Plastidip. 20220903_152023.webp

someone posted recently that they took a “Magic Eraser“ to theirs and reported that they came back to OEM condition. Worth a try:thumbup: cheers

I just use elbow grease and meg's rubbing or polishing compound. the mr. clean eraser scares me.

The erasers are just foam. The only special sauce required is water. I started using them on my boat and have seen great results there. I won’t hesitate to use one on the Stinger.

I used Flitz polish. The picture shows the rear door section that I polished 8 months ago compared to the section behind it which I didn't do at the time. You can see the difference.

Crud! Tried a few things over the past year with varying results. After your post went out and got the Flitz polish. Well, that was EASY! Only been a day but this stuff has given me the best results so far.

Just a little forum love.

Yeah, when we met up with the Norcal and Washington state group at the Shasta run last year, one of the guys had a few tubes of it and gave me one, said it worked for him. Couldn't believe how easy it was.

I have this one and don’t have to worry about it.

they might get my interest if the molding replaced the oem pieces. I am not a fan of 3m or any other taping method.

Btw, I very much like your vehicle choices!

I spent like 4 hours cleaning mine they came out looking better then new and they have not been dirty since. I would consider just putting in the time and cleaning them. Its a pain but it works. I used chemical guys Diablo.

How did you get it replaced? Was it through Kia or did you have a paint protection warranty? I heard some people who had paint protection warranties from the dealer got them replaced for free.

the free replacement is for discoloration within 36,000 miles or 36 months. it is covered under the same warranty as paint. outside of that time frame it's your cost. of course, purchasing an extended paint and trim warranty is different.
