I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if they just use the Korean display models sent over here that can't be sold and are going to be crushed anyway...But ooooh! I cry at the number of good looking cars (not just the Stinger) they go through for this type of testing.![]()
Does that happen often? Crash test videos getting removed? They're all over the place...Wow. A crash test of a car on Youtube being removed? Someone's lawyers have been busy. hehe.
Yeah. The video just showed several very slow-mo crash tests at multiple angles.

But then to see it in slowmo and how, down to the weather stripping on the windows, the car actually absorbs a good chunk.
It's definitely a good idea to tint this glass - just in case. And it's not only Kia that this spontaneous breakage happens to. There's a lot of flex in the roof and depending on temperature and other things - it can happen. It's rare - but it can happen.Watch the video very carefully from 2.03 and see what the sunroof does. It explodes with jagged shards and shrapnel. This also happens if struck by a stone but the glass comes down on your dome and fills every nook and cranny in the vehicle.. It will sound like a rifle shot. This is why I ordered my GT without one. They can spontaneously explode for no apparent reason too as I know from past experience. They won't use windscreen laminated glass just the old style shatter glass.
Might as well. It's not like it's very expensive - and it's a good safety feature for this reason. It's actually a good idea on all windows for this reason. You never know. A light tint won't disturb your view of the outdoors and it'll provide some safety in case the glass breaks...Tint ? great idea !!
