Kia Stinger Break In Discussion

For a second I thought this was a thread about how to break into a Kia Stinger!
I thought that that was going to be necessary today for the first time. I went up to the black button and pushed it and … nothing. WTH!? Went around to the other side and that black button didn't work either. I ducked down and looked inside and damnation! the ceiling lights were ON!? Ach!? All night!? WHY!!?? I got my fob and stared at the door handle, sizing up how to get that cover off so I could "break into" my own car with the physical key. On a whim I pushed the unlock button and voila! it unlocked. Now I was really puzzled. Not a discharged battery. (lights would belay that theory too) I got in and started up. The overhead icon of the car between the tach and speedo showed the RR passenger door ajar. Aha. My wife, last night, had failed to close it all the way. I calmly informed her of this flub. All was good. I hope to never have to use that physical key.

You DO have a physical key!
There's a little button on the remote that detracts the physical key portion of your fob.
Then on your driver's door handle there is a keyhole covered by a removable cap.
I had to do this to get into my car late last year when the battery of my key fob was dead.
I have since replaced the battery and haven't had the problem since.

Why didn't you replace the fob battery first? I absolutely do NOT want to ever pry that physical key cover off.
