Kia stinger auto start/stop issue

I hear that brief squeal like noise at the end. I think that's normal. 6 cyl? Sounds like just the sound of everything stopping.

yep that's it, the brief squeal at the end used to not do that. my intuition tells me that and the start stop problems are related.

Hmm... Truth be told, I never shut the car off while the hood is open. I hate start stop. It's the first thing I turn off after starting the car each time. Are you saying if start/stop is disabled it doesn't make that noise?

i also hate and don't use start stop. only reason hood opened was so you could hear the brief squeal at the very end. tried abled and disabled, tried ac on and off, just trying to figure it out.

I wouldn't be too alarmed by the sound. I hear what you're hearing in the video, with the number of things moving that are coming to a halt and the fact there's significantly worse sounds that *could* be coming from the engine bay, this wouldn't have me panicking. Keep the video archived somewhere and dated, and if it gets worse do a second video and bring both to the dealership to demonstrate the worsening sound.

the noise was confirmed by kia service to be normal and it is what DJ said, the Electronic Waste Gate.
