Kia Stinger actually, really; in the news

I think the blocking device is called a faraday cage.

They're here! That was QUICK!

And, they work. The Brinks Home Security box by itself does not, btw. I carried it out to the car with the key fob inside and it opened and lit up the mirrors without delay or any reduction in range. But the faraday pouch is 100% effective at blocking the signal between car and key fob.

Ah, the security if an undisturbed, confident night's rest, made even more possible by knowing that both key fobs are mummified inside their little pouches of silence. :D

In the meantime, I ordered this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GZPLJKM/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Should work until or unless something better comes along. Two of the six (so far) reviews specifically mentioned Kia fobs; so I considered that a propitious omen. :D;)

Obviously, do NOT try to carry this thing on a key ring (or belt mounted carabiner, which has been my preferred key carry method for years; but now it is going away, because I have downsized my keys even further and stowed the few I carry in my wallet). Thank the good Lord that my faraday bag was not hanging from my belt when this happened: the damned fabric loop parted company with the stitching the first time I went to slip it onto the carabiner, to test the "fit".

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I have a pretty simple solution.

I keep my key in the same pocket as my mobile phone, with the phone on the "outside". There have been countless times where I walk up to the car, try to unlock it, get pissed off, try again and again (garnering lots of attention). Then I remember that my (*&#$^#*^) key is in my pocket with my phone, remove the phone and unlock the car.

Confuses everyone who's watching.

By the end of the day, the pouch flap was tearing apart literally at the seams. As the lining is what the velcro is attached to, this pos is worthless for taking into the outer world. It still should work to secure my key code at night while I am sleeping. So I will put my fob in there and set the thing face down. What started out as a five star review on Amazon turned into a three star and then a two star review in the course of one day.
