Bad KIA of Yuma TRASHED my Stinger

How have things progressed? This is horror movie stuff for any car enthusiast, sorry you’re dealing with this.

My apologizes for dropping the ball on the updates. When others were asking in November I was very busy between work and life stuff and totally forgot to come back and update.

After 5 weeks I finally got a call that my car was ready ... it wasnt.
Parts where just slopped back on and the sunroof cloth fell off the moment it was attempted to be opened to test operation.
Rear driver side seat leather was massively dented in due to people putting weight against headliner while it was off, plus paint damage to the exterior of the car. Someone even tried to do a very half-ass paint repair with not even the right color of blue on the A pillar.
They couldn't even manage to do the oil change right between over-filling the oil and not even getting the engine cover back on correctly (which is a common theme for them).
The service manager even tried to make it "my responsibility" to seek repairs to the seat and paint that he blamed the other shop for.

I had to get in his face in front of other customers, and even talk with store manager for them to do the bare minimum of fixing the damages listed above. I pressed and pressed for them to provide an extended warranty on car but they would not budge on that (they just gave me meaningless promise of "we will take care of you if something breaks").
Weeks before all this transpired the owner of this dealership died and his kid inherited it and has basically zero f***s given about customer satisfaction.

KIA corporate has been completely radio silent after my report, called back a couple times and just got a "someone will get back to you" run around.

As much as I would like to take legal action, they (quasi) fixed all that was broken so its difficult to claim a moderate financial loss on it. I had inquired about it to an attorney I have as a client and he wasn't very optomistic.

I still love the car but will forever leave a bad taste in mouth. Its really amazing how drastic of a different experience it is with my Kia vs the last couple of Hyundai's my wife and I have had. This already lost them a sale, my wife was really looking at a new (spec'd out) Sorrento's, but not no more after knowing this is how Kia treats customers.

It's as if Kia corp dumped all this money into R&D for a mostly quality product but failed to recognize their dealerships were woefully ready to tackle "real" car owners with "real" issues. Like trying to become Shake Shack, but all you have are drunks and a greasy food truck that the health department shuts down weekly due to violations.

I like that analogy, I would follow up with: or like creating a 3 star Michilen menu and having it served at a Waffle House!
