Right now the price difference between the Stinger and G70 is way too close. For 5k more you can get the G70 which is slightly faster, apparently handles much better, has a better interior, and has more features. It would make sense if it was a 10k difference, but 5k? Come on. I don't understand what Hyundai is thinking on this one. Drop the MSRP for the GT down to 35k, GT1 40k, and GT2 45k and we'll be talking.

The G70 is a smaller car.

GT2 45K? I approve.

Technically yes, but not by much. It's less than 6 inches shorter and less than 1 inch wider. For comparison a 5 series is over a foot longer and over 2 inches wider than a 3 series.

The Stinger and G70 are in the same class and will compete for the same customers.

The G70 may be smaller but it is a more premium car on the same platform so yeah, I agree, there should be more of a difference in price. The Stinger in the US is a bit too expensive. Stinger prices in Canada kind of prove this. I love the Stinger and even with the current pricing, I'm considering getting a 2019 but I do believe it should top out, fully loaded, for under 50k.

To me Stinger looks way better. G70 is quite bland appearance wise.

But the Genesis buying experience / concierge level care is much better.

Im sure theyve already taken this into consideration, but being a first year production that is taking the Kia brand to a new level, they would have to probably use cheaper products to make it more affordable, which would hurt their growing rep. and the cadenza being cheaper and k900 being more expensive doesnt leave it much room.

g70 to much of a bimmer look alike no uniqueness

as far as pricing goes idk where they stand now but I got my gt awd for 33k and that was in Feb

Damn u got a hell of a deal, and i agree with the styling, i think the stinger is a lot better

The Stinger and G70 are in the same class

That's inaccurate. The G70 is considered an executive/sports compact, in a class with the 3s and the Cs (3series and C class).

The Stinger is considered a mid-sized sports sedan.

They may be cross shopped but they definitely are in different categories. One thing is for certain, the G70s leg room and cargo capacity will not be comparable to the Stingers.

Two different classes of car. I wouldnt even consider the g70 due to the size difference.

G70 is the widest car in its class, sizes are much closer than you would think

The back of the G70 is very BMW ish, the front looks like a mixture of an Infinity, Mustang, and Genesis coupe to me. It looks pretty good, but the Stinger does look better. Where in the heck did you find a GT AWD for 33k? Definitely got a crazy deal, share your hook up man ;)

thing was priced 38k before lease cash, worked em down a few more since I would be traveling 5 hours to get it. mind you I had been going back and forth with this dealership for 2 months and they still had not gotten the car off the lot. great guys over at kia Sandusky in Ohio

Stinger has more rear leg room and huge hatch space. G70 has cramped rear quarters and a dinky trunk. Part of why I bought Stinger is for hatch and all space it offered. Styling of G70 leaves me flat. Looks like all other cars in that segment. Stinger is already a cult classic for its crazy styling. G70 is more of a racy hair dressers car. Cute stitched interior pseudo luxury car.

....Although the 2.0 T RWD with 6 speed with LSD is attractive! Thats the car to have if youre going smaller.

The Stinger does offer a huge advantage in versatility...

Different platforms and different sizes. Of course some people will look at them in the same ballpark, but they really are for different buyers.

Still love my Stinger and couldn't be happier. G70 will still be great and I hope it does well.

I bought some four foot tall, 32" wide bookcase for $10 off craigslist a week or two ago. Showed up at the lady's house and she was like "how are you going to move it?" Popped the trunk, picked up the bookcase and slid it right in. Can't believe I've never owned a hatchback before. It's so easy loading my gear for work compared to a normal trunk and back seat of a sedan.

The g70 isn’t my type of hype. The exterior dimensions may seem not too far apart but interior is way roomier in the stinger. To me, they aren’t the same class. I got my gt1 for $40k, 4K under msrp. For what I got, I’m good w/ that deal
