This would be really interesting, Kia is just doing amazing things!

Sorry - I can't post links here because my account is hardly used and it won't allow me.
As the article mentions, they are using a Stinger body as the mule

Thanks!

Hmm, this could be fun. As a coupe it wouldn't supplant the Stinger.

How does a hatchback with an engine in it work exactly? What the heck is under the HOOD?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Anyone ever see the test mules for the C8 Corvette? It's a thing to behold:

This is a test mule, at least on the outside it doesn't appear to be held together by zip ties and hope.

It's just an existing body. Probably easier to modify the existing platform than come up with a new one.

Damn it would be fun to have a DCT in the Stinger.

Be even more fun to have a manual.

No way this could ever be a production vehicle given the Stinger's layout. I'm sure they just gutted a stinger and put the engine where the back seat is. Its probably janky as hell

They have the technical prowess to make a super car but they haven't cuz their market position is not in the super car range, but they have more than knowledge and technology to do so.

I feel Kia is like Chevy... Chevy makes affordable cars for everyday people who want a little $10k Chevy Spark to get from A to B or another person who has money and enthusiasm can pick up a $100k C8 Z51 or whatever have you.

So I can see Kia making a mid-engine higher-end sports car... eventually. :p

I am impressed with how Kia is progressing as a company! :D
