Before you think of paying extra for yellow, think again.

Rufus found this interesting article, this line stood out :

"Some readers may remember that Kia showed the Stinger in an eye-catching shade of yellow shortly after its launch. That color was part of a promotional effort for dealerships, but after getting such a positive reaction,

Kia North America product planner Orth Hendrick is looking at making the yellow a production run color."

Having purchased a Yellow Stinger, it would be good to see the 2019's in yellow also...There will only be 400 2018 yellows but for future years, good. The dark blue will also come out in 2019 and is limited to 500.

kind of defeats the purpose of having a promotional color. hell, might as well make the sema orange a color also. just my two cents.

I don't see why anyone would pay extra for yellow in the first place. Yes, it was a limited color, but they weren't flying off of lots. We had 4 in my area and it took months for them to sale (still one left), and they were listed below MSRP.

Well, here in Florida, they lasted 3 days in my area and I know of three other members that also had trouble finding yellow. I guess to each their own.

“We used (the yellow) for a sales promotion for the dealers and it took off. They disappeared immediately, and then we were like ‘whoa!’
So we’re working with the plant and the suppliers to see if we can make this like a production run. I think it’s a limited market. We don’t want to overdo it.” Kia North America product planner Orth Hendrick

So did you expect him to say, "We cant' sell these damn things." My comment is anecdotal. Maybe it's different in other places. Stingers weren't flying of lots here regardless of color.

At least they won't get the two "limited" badges like mine :rofl:

And for the record, I paid week bellow msrp for mine. Lease then buy.

I'd prefer a bit of time for exclusivity on yellow but what can you do. If they also have SVM and suede headliner with yellow for 2019... I may be a bit pissed for a while.

Can't wait to see that Atlantica.

In Europe the yellow is not limited and it is in fact the only colour included in the base price. All others cost extra.

Also we only get one version of the GT which is fully loaded. The only two options available are any other colour than yellow and the sunroof. Surround view, wireless charging, all driver aids, heated rear seats etc. are standard. And the Deep Chroma Blue available for US market only in the Atlantica version is freely selectable as well.

If that sema orange would have been up for grabs, I had purchased mine in that beautiful collor.

I stated in another thread that I'm all for them adding yellow to the lineup. I don't see any need for future Stingers to go through the aggravation we had to of trying to find a limited color, or dealing with dealerships who try to mark up limited editions. Most importantly what I wanted for months before release was a yellow GT1, and with the limited I was never given that option. Maybe don't drop it down to the 2.0t if they want to maintain a hint of exclusivity, but GT buyers should have access to this color. Although I'm fully expecting the base 2.0 and one of the GT trims to disappear next year.

I'm with you on that thought Dave. I really wanted a GT1 but i really wanted yellow. So as it stands i'm still happy with my choice.

I'm fine with the stereo in the base GT, but with this black as night interior I really do miss having a sunroof to light things up a bit. Alternatively having a lighter interior option would have been nice.

I only noticed a significant difference in the stereo when using SXM. Other than that, radio and BT seemed equal. I will admit, i do drive with the sun shade open due to the darkness of the interior...sorry you dont have the same option.

Agreed on the lighter interior...i would even go for the white the have in the blue GT2. To me, a mid dark grey would have been perfect color combo.

The Atlantica (dark blue you mentioned) is limited to 500 units worldwide, if memory serves me correctly. The yellow is limited to 400 in the U.S. but is a standard color everywhere else.

If the 2019 Stinger ever becomes a collector's car the Atlantica will be the one to have.

Australia has similar options to Europe.

Only in America though right? As I recall, and that article looks like it confirms, it doesn't have anything you can't get in other parts of the world. Unless just the combination of deep chroma blue with the espresso brown interior isn't a combination you can order elsewhere?

My understanding is it's the combination of interior/exterior colors, wheels, badges, and tech that make it "The Atlantica".
