Whoa! In excess of $10k to respray and then do a lifetime warranty! That’s pretty good of them to do, I figured once they figured out the issue they would do something but they have gone way above with the lifetime warranty on the paint. All you folks with the yellow are going to be happy with this. Yeah your car will probably be out of your possession for a bit but I think it is worth it.

No...I should have said I will be happy with it if that is also their resolution in the USA. I would let them respray it for sure.

ok, just for clarification purposes, spoke with kia n.a., like the original post stated, this is for australian stinger owners only. they are aware of the u.s. problems with the yellow stingers. there is no resolution yet. i think they are waiting to see how many owners come forward.

Hopefully not basing a solution on how many come forward. I am willing to bet if its affected the AU stingers, the US ones are part of the same color batch...as i have posted on the paint thread, this does set a very promising precedent.

Contact KIA Customer Service, open a case with them.

I contacted them today, they said they are not aware of this issue but opened a ticket for me. They asked me to go to a dealership to get photos taken of the paint.

The Customer Care Service actually said that they had no idea? Did you get through to Premium Service Reps? Do you recall the name of the person to whom you spoke?

Call the Stinger Customer Service line at 855-454-2847. They are just for us, and are well aware of the issue, and also have your VIN handy.

The normal Kia Customer Service reps are most likely clueless about this as they do not deal with Stinger owners.

Just saw another story that Kia Australia has "recalled" all Yellow stinger for repainting

Also heard from KIA Affairs that they offered buy backs in Australia. I have a claim number on my micro blue.

Three options being offered to Sunset Yellow owners in America:
1-Buy Back
2-Trade In
3-Repaint and Financial Gratuity

They said they’d send us a letter in the next couple weeks.

interesting, mike over at the preferred owners group says that this is what will happen if, and he stressed the word if, enough people have the problem, and it is documented.

I was contacted yesterday.
They are only repainting the metal portions of the car.

I was also contacted yesterday. I'm in a pickle, respraying seems like a lot to go through and I'd rather trade in or buyback. If they would trade my normal GT model for a GT2 so I can still have my LSD and such since I'd be losing out and going from a limited edition ride to a non limited edition. My other option is buyback and going for a G70.

I doubt that'll happen. If they want to respray mine I'm fine with that. I'll drive around a Forte or some lesser loaner for a week or two. Hopefully not more than that though?
