Kia Currently on the Nurburgring!!

What I'm expecting out of the initial reviews:
  • It'll be compared non-stop to the BMW 340i and Jaguar XE-S (current market leaders for fast saloons). You'll have to wait for US reviews for any comparisons with the guys from Cadillac.
  • At least one person will comment that it was a good idea to call it a GT instead of a GTi, which may lead to Aston Martin comparisons (specifically the Rapide)
  • They'll love the engine
  • Someone will moan about how the transmission isn't a ZF or Dual Clutch (XE-S and 340i, respectively), but will give no real reason as to why this is a negative
  • A lot of people will go "this is a Kia!?"
  • They will also go "its too expensive", because badge snobbery
  • Someone will undoubtedly say "its good, but its not a BMW" and give no reasons as to why the BMW is better
Basically, it'll be the Pro_Cee'd GT reviews all over again. Although the Cee'd reviewed very well (James May even said the only thing stopping from matching/overtaking the VW Golf GTi was the lack of VW badge), it somehow still ended up with 3-stars from mainstream (read: sponsored by Volvo and Audi) reviewers like Autocar.

So prepare for you blood to boil because of all the badge snobbery.

People seem to love it.... a lot of complaints about the exhaust though. It would be really crappy if the car was amazing but the exhaust sucked. Easy fix, too!

Is it me or the Stinger does downshift rev-matching?? I didn't see the driver messing with the left paddle shifter. If so, it's another reason to like it more.

It was probably in Drive rather than Manual. I'm not expecting it to have rev-match down-shifting. If anything it'll act more along the lines of the XE R-Sport I drove a while back, which like the Kia is a traditional Automatic.
