On the one year anniversary of when I bought my 2022 Stinger GT2 last December most of the Kia Connect features were shut off. This included things like remote lock/unlock and remote start. The window sticker did say it was a 1 year trial, but I don't recall the dealer highlighting that. No heads up notice from Kia that this trial was coming to an end, etc., just got one email on that last day saying it was over. Called Kia to vent about the poor handling of this but not surprisingly they didn't do anything about it or seem to care. I like the features in the "Plus" package but not sure I like them enough to pay $149/year to keep. Has anyone else had experience with this and/or have a promo code to reduce the cost of reactivating these features?

I received 1 or 2 notifications prior to my 1 year coming to an end. They weren't exactly obvious and I think I got them about 2 months prior to the end date. As for a promo code, good luck. I can't imagine these subscriptions ever being discounted. I don't think there's even a place to put in a discount code if you're renewing.

Thanks. There is actually a "enter promo code" box now on the subscription page which makes you think they're out there. Did a quick search and didn't find anything.

Call up the uvo support and ask them for one? Say you're interested in their product but will only subscribe if they give you a discount. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Saved me $150+ on my water heater install.

I got multiple warnings but that's because my credit card expired.

But did that work for anyone with the Kia Connect feature

It certainly works for GM's onstar, I got their whole like 50 dollar a month package on my last car for 9.99 just cuz I asked for a discount.

I recently did same with Sat radio.... And I still don't use it.

But price was right.
3 months for a total of $2.26

Hopefully the Kia Connect business has a similar offering, cause I do enjoy the remote start option through the app.

Any news about how this is being handled in Canada?

Yeah, that's US. Surprising that they don't offer that in Canadia.

Question. What precisely is Surround View Monitor?

I use my cameras on the sides and especially the front to avoid smashing my front bumper or causing road rash on the rims.

Is that what this is?

Found this:

So basically if we don't purchase the top tier we can't even see behind the vehicle when reversing. This is a basic safety feature.

$360/year.

Yup.
I do not think that is what they are selling.

I believe the top teir of Kia Connect gives you the ability to take snapshots of the SVM remotely on your phone.

I do not think they disable the camera system for the driver in the car.
