KIA badge article

Personally, this car should have come here in N.America with the E badge to better represent the elevated quality and performance this car truly represents much like what Hyundai initially did with the Genesis model. Instead, I still feel this car's Excellence is undermined by preconceived notions of "oh, that's still a Kia". Now trying to figure out what to do with the Kia steering wheel badge...

Yep...you're internationally famous now!
<snip>[R]ecently I watched videos related to the Stinger emblem on YouTube. An American, who appears to be the owner, was involved in removing the 'KIA' emblem and turning both front and back emblems into Korean emblems.

In the video, there was no direct impression evaluation, but the borrower and friends were satisfied with the change of the emblem. After the appearance of Stingers like this, a lot of related articles and videos are appearing overseas. Obviously, this kind of mood helps brand and model awareness and brand value. I do not know what it is in the US, but in Europe, Kia is known as a company that makes cheap and ordinary cars.</snip>

I completely agree , the only other Stinger I've ever seen was in an outdoor Mall on display , it was black with stock Kia badges .....................it just lacked the impact of the rebadged E and Stinger . My wifes comment was . Hmmm it just looks "cheaper" with the Kia badges ..................the Stinger will definitely move the Kia needle in the right direction but it is tough sledding .

Mine is on order, but my intention is to remove the rear KIA oval and the small "Stinger" chrome from the rear deck lid and install the larger "Stinger" in the decklid center. That will effectively "debadge" the rear end of the car. I'm not sure if I want to replace the wheel center logos or not. And I think the KIA will stay on the hood front. I want people to ask me about the car, not hide it. Kia deserves some credit and exposure for this ride and they'll will get it from me. We may well wish we had the KIA logos back on it after the public learns what it is.

Yeah i love the E badge right now. See how long before I get irritated by the what is it question

Yeah, too Lexusy. I want an E badge when I get my Stinger, but I'm not the handiest guy and I don't want to screw stuff up

I kinda like it actually. It’s either the same logo or it’s not IMO

You can’t move your brand up market if your up market cars don’t have your brand on them.

Truth. But since I’m not a Kia shareholder I don’t worry about it that much.

haha! klexus! i see that's getting around. i like it. the k looks too much like a lexus copy. it's not bad but if it didn't look like a blatant ripoff of the lexus logo it would be better.
Well my E badge looks like a Bentley B. So I think KIA needs a refresh :)

..............when I see that badge I think Optima , seems like every Optima has this set up

Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s the badge that’s used in Korea, right? Assuming that is the case I think I’ll find it easier to explain than the E badge.

My understanding is it's an entirely aftermarket creation. It's not documented in the Kia logo history article.
