So I have the OEM exhaust, OEM intakes and I will soon have the OEM springs. What do you guys do with your OEM parts? I have not intention of selling the car. I don't think I would go back to stock either for any reason. If I do ever get rid of the car it will probably be a trade in for something else. I know carmax and those similar companies will hit you with a penalty if the car is not stock. I don't really mind not getting back what I put into the car. So do you guys keep your OEM parts? If you don't keep them, what could I get for the stock intakes(10k miles) and Stock Exhaust(15k miles)? Thanks

I keep my OEM parts. But wheels and tires, I sell them.

I have thought about this as well and I keeping asking why someone would want used OEM parts for a vehicle they (presumably) already have?

I wouldn't mind trying to sell but unless someone bought the car used and it already had aftermarket parts or their own stock parts broke (and warranty wouldn't cover) or something I can't think of many other reasons one would buy them.

Well, some people want to sell theirs and they modded them. So they want to return it to stock. Could also be someone rebuilding a wrecked one, repairs from accident. I'm sure I could sell them but it might take a while.

Didn't think about repairs from accident good call. Best of luck when you do decide to sell and hopefully doesn't take too long.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
After Tuesday, I'll have front and rear OE sway bars inside Eibach boxes, in the shed. Heh. Not sure why I feel the need to keep them. But for now, that's what I am doing. This could get totally out of control if I was modding the heck out of it.

I have a box full of stock Stinger parts in the garage (intake, armrest, shift knob, hood vents, and rear endlinks) and the rear sway bar, secondary downpipes and catback in the shed. Not planning on replacing any more oem parts for awhile. The only thing that I’ll ever hope to sell is the catback.

Might be a good idea to keep them in case of any warranty claims you may make in the future, as you may need to put them back on the car before you make a claim.

Keep the OE parts, if you sell the car you can sell it as “stock” then sell the aftermarket parts separately, you can make decent money off them as the ones that will buy older used cars like the Stinger will usually be into modding so there will be a market for the parts.

I got rid of the exhaust, no way that will cause warranty issues and I don't plan on going back to stock.

The springs I kept however.

I kept the stock air boxes when I had my CAI installed. Did not keep the stock sway bars or stock exhaust. The air boxes are easy enough to keep while the other parts are long and awkward.

Where did you get rid of it?

Well you could scrap it, probably make some cash just cause it's heavy. I just let the exhaust shop have it, they gave me a good deal so I'm sure they could scrap it or use the metal for something else.

I couldn’t keep the stock exhaust because it was replaced with a Borla while getting repaired after an accident. Good excuse to upgrade ;)

Otherwise, all of my stock bits (intakes, mid-pipes, exhaust tips, sway bars) are all in boxes up in the attic. I figure the benefit of keeping them is that I will be able to make the car more widely appealing by returning to stock when/if I sell it. I mean, used modded cars can come off as sketchy to some and actually reduce resale. I’d just sell the mods, for discount afterward. I feel the Stinger will have a good aftermarket/street presence for a few more years. If I didn’t have the space to store anything, I’d be more aggressive in trying to sell off the stock parts.

You’re going to love the upgrade, Merlin.

I believe it. And with both Eibach bars in, there really is no reason why I should clutter up our shed with the OE bars. My thinking, now, is that on Tuesday I'll take both boxes and OE bars and let Jerry Seiner Kia dispose of them. (plenty of time to rethink this in between)

I live in Cali, thankfully in a "Smog only once when the car is bought" county. All the stock parts I take off are in a closet right now. Need to be able to make the car pass smog, whether for sale or a rare fix-it.

that county must be very small or something, or in the middle of nowhere. Anyways I will just register my car out of state. Fewer hassles and fewer fees. California, your screwing yourself.
