Stinger GT2. Just installed the JUN BL catback exhaust. Sounds amazing above 2000 RPMs, but below that it sounds absolutely horrible. Like a sick tractor. If I drive it in sport mode it sounds great at all RPMs. Normal
Comfort mode driving it’s embarrassing to drive with the garbling noises starting out. Was checked out three times and no leaks and installation is flawless. Any idea what the heck is going on here. 2k invested in this exhaust. K8 stinger store said they haven’t had this type of complaint. Greatly appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Moving this out of Non-Stinger Talk into the exhaust section. Welcome.

Have you looked into exhaust tips?

Thank you for the reply. The K8 stinger store sales rep mentioned the Borla carbon fiber tips could fix it but wouldn’t guarantee it would work for sure. $900 for tips is a lot for the unknown. I’m sure their are other tips that would fit well. Have you heard of this before happening with a high performance exhaust? I know the stinger tips are fake. Just hard to believe the sickening sound at low rpms. Appreciate any thoughts you might have.

Those tips are a rip off. People have solved drone with $20 tips off Ali Express. They may not look like rocket boosters like the Borlas but they're also not the same price as a freaking catback, lol

I’ll look into Ali Express and let you know. Hopefully tips would take care of this. If not, I feel I wasted a lot of money on this exhaust. Hard to believe K8 Store said they never heard of this complaint. Was starting to think the exhaust was built wrong possibly.

I'm not saying it will cure anything but because of the way this car is designed, tips on aftermarket exhausts are practically a must. I'd definitely try it first because it's easy. You can probably find what size you need on here.

Where do i start! Volumes written in here best to use the search button in the titles you'll find plenty.

Long story long i have the equivalent Ark grip cat back over two years down the track and $1100 spent.
Now you have a V6 amphitheatre the hatch area magifies the famous v6 drone unbelievably.

I dynamatted the boot floor and battery area and under the back seats. Also 1/4" dynalinered under the boot lid .

Just yesterday the final piece ( skipped the extra in pipe resonator install surgery x 2) Found the fn ark muffler cannisters are hollow!!!! Check yours tap to hear.
My exhaust guy (no.3) took em off cut them and put steel wool insulation in . He also cut the support brackets between the pipes in the two places this stopped the metal reverb up front so FINALLY job done!

Others will tell you to make sure the exhaust pipes reach the exhaust tips to make sure the sound exit through rather echoing the bottom of the boot pan .(trunk) Mine always reached but i won't know if the sound could have been worse i doubt it.

On receipt of the orginal exhaust it was undriveable.

Good luck..oh and leave yer money on the fridge.

The Borla tips are useless, they don't physically attach to the exhaust. The chinese knockoffs at least attach and move the noise from under the car to out back.

lol that's hilarious, I didn't know they don't even attach to the exhaust pipe. That's just insulting.

I did a muffler delete and had a ton of drone so I did the wrap and sealed the pipes to the stock tips and it worked great

So you did a muffler delete on your stock exhaust? And what do you mean you sealed the pipes to the stock tips? Like pushed the pipes into the tips?
