In for kit 2:thumbup:

While you are working out costs, would it make sense to offer an 'export' version of the kit that included your proprietary work, but without the K&N filters? I know size is critical on overseas shipments, and those are some big (but standard) filters that could possibly be purchased locally to reduce the freight cost.

Lowering the cost of the kit (minus the filters) should also make it more attractive for international sales - and save those poor filters a trip to Australia and back ... :p

You've got a great point. but considering the size of the intake tube plus all the hardware to mount it and the disassembled air boxes, plus the packaging. I don't think removing the filters from the kit will save much in freight costs, however it will save on the cost of the kit itself as you stated.

I’d be in for kit 1 or 2 depending on the freight.

How many do we need it make it worth a discount???

He did say in the first post he wanted to get an idea of the interest from members, to work out the GB pricing he would offer - and later said he'd respond back by the end of the week.

A quick perusal of this thread shows 13 people (including myself) have at least expressed interest in purchasing so far. I would guess there are a number of others waiting to hear the price break before making a commitment to buy.

Also seems like not including the filters makes sense. Its not much weight but its alot of volume.

And it splits up the cost so the accountant does not get as upset over a single purchase  Still mulling this over...

...Bumper removal is one of the easiest bumpers to do. As mentioned all in step by step instructions. There is no problems not fitting them if you dont want to pull bumper off, or you wish to do so at a later stage. You just wont get all the benefits of cold air flow.
I saw a picture in another thread tonight of the front end with the bumper off (thanks, @niko !) and there appears to be a substantial amount of OEM plastic that requires removal/trimming to fit those ducts.

As @Kamauxx inquired earlier, can we see the installation document to have a better idea on how much needs to be cut away?

Since I think Im one of the very few with the full kit, heres what I got:

Yes, there is alot of, IMO, worthless junk that needs to come off. Even more if you are doing the stage 1 full cooler kit.

While I didn't install mine yet, yes, you do have to modify that plastic piece. I just removed mine entirely (so the IC would fit actually) When i pull the bumper this weekend, Ima see if I can get the ducts to fit without that plastic piece there at all. That way I don't have to cut it and can save for when I need to return to stock.

Keen to hear how you make out with that - please keep us posted!

Share the bumper removal instructions if you have them. I bet removing that plastic piece will help stock flow as well. Or at least stock-ish with K&N panels. I'm hoping to hit 12.5s with my AWD with panel filters. :)

Looks pretty straight forward. As long as those bumper clips aren’t cheap pieces of crap we will be fine. Taking a bumper off normally requires more work!

Would be interested in any of the kits, depending on which kit gets the most purchasers with the best pricing. All the kits look awesome and appear to be of high quality and finish.

Ok, so I pulled the bumper tonight cause I couldn't wait till tomorrow lol.

Guys, youre over thinking this. JT included a color instruction book and we have that link above. The clips are decent actually, Ive pulled them out many times and they still hold np. The ONLY thing you need to learn is its ok to pull abit when "peeling" the bumper off. I grab it from a wheel well and literally peel it off carefully. Pull up around the headlights. The driver side has 1 plug you pull the lever back and it disengages. Boom, bumper off.

Unless I'm missing something, there is no way to install the duct work without modifying the plastic thing. It appears the duct screws into the plastic. Sorry :/

One could actually remove the plastic thing, and use the bolt holes from that and the useless plastic crap that I removed to bolt in duct work instead of cutting that plastic, but yea... not on this revision.

Here is a picture of where the duct work would in theory go.

(That is his intercooler also, which is quite involved for the American version cars to swap in. Yes the cars are structurally different between the AUS and US versions.)20180706_175731.webp
