jose martinez / @kia_stinger_gt here to share my knowledge

Thoughts on the Jun EVC? As quiet as stock closed? Been considering that as an option but $2k seems steep.
Yes without the downpipes its quieter than stock when closes and a little rumble when open.

I have a close relationship with LAP3/PROSS and have for several years. With their products i built my Optima in my garage to 430WHP and held the record for a while until my friend beat it with his optima we built in my garage as well. HAve been driving and modding kia vehicles since 2002.
Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us to benefit from! Based on your previous 2.0 work on your Optima, what would you say is the max safe power level with the stock engine?

I dont frequesnt forums as they mostly dead before but thought i should come by and share knowledge ans answer questions

For refenrence.....

I was the first in the US with the Jun BL EVC tyoe exhaust

I was one of the first with the Jun BL downpipes

I was one of the first to use the Lap3 Chip and one of the first to blow a plug and coil pack because of it

I was the test vehicle used by magnaflow to create the 3.3 magnaflow exhaust (thats my car in their promo vid)

I was the test vehicle for Injens upcoming intake for the 3.3

I was the first to have the JB4 unit from burger motorsports. I drove out to their location to test it out and make sure it worked. (its my car in their install intruction pictures)

I am currently testing out Keendesign Chip

I have Keendesign KD07 20" forged wheels

I have a meth kit installed

List of mods currently on the car are:
KeenDesign KD07 wheels
Snow Performance meth kit
Jun BL down pipes
Jun BL EVC type exhaust
M&S spoiler
The aftermarket place Carbon fiber hood vents and fender vents
Carbon fiber Mirror caps and fuel door
Eibach Lowering springs

If anyone has quesions, ask away. the most common one i get is usually about the exhaust systems

Currently have almost 17,000 miles on my stinger partly because i drove it cross country

My instagram is @kia_stinger_gt

And there is a youtube channel "StingerGT Channel"

Lastly Im not some random guy who drives a lot and get parts for his stinger. I have a close relationship with LAP3/PROSS and have for several years. With their products i built my Optima in my garage to 430WHP and held the record for a while until my friend beat it with his optima we built in my garage as well. Nice. Welcome to the forum and we appreciate the knowledge. I’m sure most will have many questions and look forward to your updates.

Thank you! Can you share your experience and comparisons between exhausts, specifically with in-cabin drone at highway speeds?

As of right now no one has pushed that 2.0 beyond what chips do which is in the 250-260whp range. a tune is coming but i dont see 290wph possible without major upgrades. Different turbo and a good tune could net you in the 325-350whp without doing internals. i would recomend internals for any level beyond that.

all of the ones i have used have had zero drone with mangaflow being the quietest cruising at highway speeds even with the downpipes.

I would say magnaflow is good for somone who doesnt want to heard their exhaust daily but wants others to hear it when you go WOT on them.

So hard to believe, in the Mustang world they are known as Magnadrones.... good to hear they are great for the stinger though.

if you see my video you can see that you cant hear it much but it is louder under load. and you cant hear it at all at highway cruising speeds

Wow that’s much quieter than I expected and sounds very similar to stock. I’m looking for a little more rumble like the NGM Zeta, but really appreciate the sound clips!

I sure wish there were some dyno comparisons on exhausts!!! Thanks, @Kiacruzer !

Curious what it took for you to install the carbon fiber fender vents.
And do you plan on installing the carbon fiber front wind scoops?
Seeing you do installs while "multitasking" is motivating...I CAN DO IT!!

Glad to see you on here Jose!

Always great to have members of the community so involved with their cars, especially with the brand new Stinger!

Hi Jose Would you please give an in depth review on the jb4 unit with the fuel wires added and how the different maps are reacting in your car?
What map do you use and like the best? Have you had Terry Tweak any of your logs after your runs? do you feel the jb4 box is the pinnacle of piggy back tuning? and if its not the pinnacle of piggy back boxes, which one is.? and the reasons for your choice ? do you use Jb4 connect in your car? Do you like it?...and if not...why not?
As you stated in this quote "Lastly Im not some random guy who drives a lot and get parts for his stinger. I have a close relationship with LAP3/PROSS and have for several years." With that being said from you Jose....do you think you have an open mind to other tuners that provided boxes for your car? so with that being said will you provide us some real world info on these two piggy backs...the pros and cons of the Jb4 and the Lap3/Pross boxes.....when you tested these two tuner boxes were both the latest and greatest products given to you for testing? It would certainly be flawed testing if the piggyback were not tested with them being the latest and greatest from each shop.Who in your opinion gave you the best customer service, and updated firmware for the piggyback boxes ?What map on the Lap3/Pross compares to the Jb4 map3 running5 gals of e85? Is map 3 on the Jb4 with fuel wires working good for you? And I guess the last question off the top of my head is which map do you run daily in your car?

from my experience, you should always use the recommended plugs, install catch cans & run one setting lower than what the US vendor recomends.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the community.

Regarding catch cans: I've read on a number of other boards that one should place a check valve between the PCV side catch can and the intake manifold to prevent the CC from seeing boost. Have you ever seen this being a problem? I'm driving a 2.0, so hoping you can shed some light based on your Optima experience.
